Hello All

This is an odd ball I have been working on for some time.

It is based on the Dodge Challenger they ran just before the Omni. It ran in the AFX class in NHRA with a destroked 406 Hemi and Pro Stock else where with a 437ci Hemi.

Hope you guys like it.

I found this one from a link on ebay to a online shop in Japan. Still some detail work I want to do on it, but overall I am happy.

They were very nice and answered my emails quickly and I had no troubles buying the kit, shipping was not that bad either. I had it in less then 2 weeks airmail.

The tuner import guys could find some neat stuff here too.

Another GREAT build Roger.

What's next on the workbench?

I have the Ramchargers AA/FD on the bench as well as buttoning up my Garlits car.

Well done and inventive.

That's very cool, indeed. I never even thought to look for a Japanese kit of the Mitsu-based Challenger, but there it is.

I kind of prefer the stock versions, myself:

Thanks Dave,

I have that story from 1978 and used it to guild this attempt.

The stock version fell into that forgetable sea of cars from the time. The stock 2.6 liter, rear wheel drive, and mid 17 seconds track times did not make it one that most people recall. Front wheel drive was about to become all the rage and most Mopar fans thought putting the Challenger name on such a car should have been a crime.
