Rider Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 (edited) As per the title I bought a huge parts box from my LHS and this body was in it. I know it's a Mercedes but that's it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Edited September 26, 2018 by Rider
Lownslow Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 (edited) 35-39 540k somewhere around that age Edited October 30, 2009 by Lownslow
Joe Handley Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Yup, looks like a Pre-War Mercedes to me too. SHould make a neat street rod considering the shape it's in
Modelmartin Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 That is the Monogram 540K and in silver plastic that would be the 70s release of it. It is large, probably about 1/22 scale in reality. Have fun with it!
Rider Posted October 30, 2009 Author Posted October 30, 2009 Thanks for the help guys. Yep it's going to be a street rod of sorts, when ever it makes it to the bench That is the Monogram 540K and in silver plastic that would be the 70s release of it. It is large, probably about 1/22 scale in reality. Have fun with it! Yes it is a Monogram and molded in silver, great eye and knowledge. Interesting scale, I have three other cars as well, I would guess they're all from that series of 1/22 then? Thanks again for the info. Curt
Modelmartin Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Interesting scale, I have three other cars as well, I would guess they're all from that series of 1/22 then? Curt Actually the Mercedes is the only one that is too big. All of the other Monogram classics are scaled well. I think they enlarged it to use the same tires as the Deusenberg and others in the series. A 500/540K is not a large car and in Monogram's world it is almost as long as the Deusey!!!! A Deusenberg is LARGE! If you run across a Jo-Han mercedes compare it the Monogram Have fun cutting it up! That is what it is for!
