Guest arni Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 While I am building the green Citroen I thought about using up the unused kit parts,so I decided to build the left over parts as a derelict car. Here is the shell, the hood, trunk lid and four fenders were used in the green one.The front doors have been removed. After removing the 'fabric' roof the shell was fitted to the floor. I made a couple of basic 1/4 panels for the rear. Removed some plastic from the rocker panel/firewall and floor. Same with the trunk floor. Then added the roof rails. Then the basic chassis was assenbled.
Guest arni Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Then the engine was assembled and painted. The shell was then sprayed Fiat broom yellow and the suspension brushed black. A piccy of both Citroen's. The shell was then given some rust treatment. Next I gave the car a black wash to dirty it up,matt coated the paintwork, sprayed the front doors orange/blue,made and fitted a windshield ect. Then I got a cake base and covered it in a railway scatter 'earth' Built a dry stone wall and used real moss to make a diorama. Still in progress at the moment, more to come.
george 53 Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Nige, when my 2nd 95 Impala SS was stolen an stripped, there wasn't even THAT much left of it! Around here, when these bastiges STRIP a car, They STRIP a car! They even took the time to UNSCREW ALL the electrical wireing AND took the screwnuts TOO! Only thing they left were the small quarter glass peices! At least yours could theoretically be rebuilt! Big differences in car thieves from your country to OURS!!! Hey maybe you could build a dunebuggy from whats left! Uhhh, you guys GOT dunes over in Ireland?
