Jon Cole Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Some kits now have seats made of vinyl. I'm not sure of what glue to use. I hope one of the adhesives I already have will work; plastic tube cement, super glue, clear epoxy, JB Weld epoxy, rubber cement, or contact cement?
MrObsessive Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Out of all those choices Jon, I'd say super glue would give you the best bond. You've got to be careful though as you want to make it a one shot deal, and not have to "redo" your error! What you might want to try is to make "tracks" for your seats out of plastic strip, attach those to your seat with super glue (sparingly), and then you can use regular glue on the tracks for putting them into your interior. BTW, sorry about your dog in your sig............I've got a sick cat at the moment so I know what you're going through.
Jon Cole Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 Thanks for the kind words, and advice Bill.
Zoom Zoom Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Superglue works fine on the vinyl seats. As does flat Tamiya spray paint (I used a dark gray on my R/T; just treated them like they were styrene...worked fine).
