59-Desoto Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 looks awesome Ron, the color combo is perfect and the wheels make it pop
Bob Ellis Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Ron , did you have any problems poping out the clear headlights on that Buick?
Ron Hamilton Posted June 3, 2016 Author Posted June 3, 2016 Ron , did you have any problems poping out the clear headlights on that Buick?Fortunately, the kit headlamps popped right out, an thy were friction fit. I did not like the look of them, so I found some clear lenses that fit into the opening, which I recessed. bare-metaled the openings and the backs of the lenses. I have a '61 Convertible I am restoring along the same lines.
Ron Hamilton Posted June 5, 2016 Author Posted June 5, 2016 I used some polished jewels from Jo-Ann fabricsI would love to see it!!!!
Bob Ellis Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Ron , these headlights are jewels fom Jo-Ann Fabrics. I filed them round and used plastic polish to make them shine
Jeff Sauber Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I used those 'craft jewels' for the lights on this one as well.......I once found a pack of the clear smooth style but haven't seen them for a while...most of the craft store gems have the 'diamond cut textures' however.
Ron Hamilton Posted June 6, 2016 Author Posted June 6, 2016 Bob and Jeff, The headlamps look great. The models are pretty nice too.
