Bruno Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Just a small update. I have the body and interior set on the chassis. all BMF is done, brake lines are attached, battery lines are installed along with oil and tranny dipsticks. Thats all for now, till next weekend This one got an automatic transmission?
kyledr330 Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 This one got an automatic transmission? ) I guess I forgot they have a fill plug.. oops... the yellow one you see is the oil dipstick.... I cut the tranny one out
wgflatliner Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 ) I guess I forgot they have a fill plug.. oops... the yellow one you see is the oil dipstick.... I cut the tranny one out can you get a detailed pic of the dipstick and how you work it into the motor, please?
kyledr330 Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) can you get a detailed pic of the dipstick and how you work it into the motor, please? Mark, Here is a closer pic of the motor. The "dipstick" is just telephone wire, along with the brake lines. I just took the insulation of the wire and painted it yellow, drilled a #73 hole in the motor and super glued it in place where it is on the real motor. Hope this helps you. diymirage Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 got mine done some of the modifications : log intake with 8 carbs from the desoto firedome hemi custom 6 inch raised AARC hood spider rims rear suspension raised superbird wing the black grille was the wifeys idea i thought it might make it looks a little bit too much like a challenger but now that it is on i must say i like it, it goes well with the bill boards and black hood section the rear pan is not yet in place but anyone who has ever looked at one of these models knows what a pain they are so i am waiting for everything else to cure before i attempt to glue that in i didnt bother doing any interior shots because i just am not that good at detailing those yet this car has some flocking and a two tone interior of black and tan leather it actually flows very well with the car when i started this build i was planning on making two hoods, this one for cruizing and a flat one with a hole cut in it for racing but c'mon, look at it this looks more intimidating then 8 carbs sticking out plus, im not sure where i left the other hood speaking of 8 carbs this is the first model i build with the overspay on the bottom and i think i like it i added a little color to the exhaust and rear end cover with rust you can also see in this shot that one of the exaust pipes needs to be realigned, im pretty sure that is why the engine is sitting cockeyed and finally a comparision shot with a stock 71 hemi 'cuda just to see how the stance and everything is as always comments are welcome

cutlass_supreme71 Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 If I can play too I have a couple I'll show. I have a 74 charger I built during the build time but I was so busy getting it it done for my mom to give my brother for Christmas that I didn't have time to do many build pics. I did get a couple if you'll allow this on in your cbp. I also have a 68 dodge dart I started a couple weeks ago. I have quite a bit done but I can start taking build pics now and as I finish. It started as a Mr. Norms '68 dart. Whatcha think? Can I play with either? thanks shane

Smart-Resins Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I will be working on a 1970 Chevelle ls6 Convertible. A 4replica of Ray allens Briggs Chevrolet Convertible drag car. I will be hopefully mastering the convertible body for Bandit resins if I do a fair enough job. I am also working with my friend Ed at Drag City Casting on some other details. He has provided me with one of his uptops for the project at what I think is a reasonable price. I will also be getting true 1:1 decals that would have been used on the original car from someone else, wich we will be using to recreate the decals in this scale through another buddy, gregg Holland. If I can get this moving fast enough, I will share it here as well. So keep your fingers crossed. until then, I have the main part of the chassis on the dodge coronet 500 put together and need to put the suspension on it. The interior is almost done, not as good as I would have liked, but I will let it go! The decals have been finished! For the camaro, the interior has been sprayed white and now I need to do the detail work to it! Fun fun fun! LOL. Jody

wgflatliner Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 well, i have been fiddling with the 70 stang boss 429 for a bit here, and made some progress. the motor is pretty much basic bolt-ups done, no wiring done yet, and the air cleaner comes on later in the instructions. time to rant. this kit has so many stinking ejector pin moldings it's RETARDED. GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. i mean - seriously - ejector pin molds on headers? really? ok done ranting. going to start painting parts of the chassis, and detailing it next.
Nick Winter Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Eelco can I enter a second car? A '71 Plymouth Satellite, I'm building it my way, the way I would have bought one.
cutlass_supreme71 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 A couple pics of the status of my 68 dart as of yesterday night. I've been working on it for a couple weeks. I've almost finished out the interior. Just got the body pulled off the paint rack. The chassis is set together for pictures.
