Matt T. Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Here's my build for the NNL East "'32 Fords" theme, as well as the Hobby Heaven Board Deuce Posting Day - 2/1/07. It's an older release of the Lindberg kit, but rumor has it it's coming back in '07! Rear tire position is out-of-box, rake achieved by using a Revell dropped tube axle up front. Tires are Modelhaus (T-292 rears, T-195 fronts), chromed steelies are from the AMT '51 Chevy kit. Grille is from the metal-bodied Revell Milner coupe kit. It dropped right on like it belonged there all along. There was a big clunky bumper mount/spreader bar on the front that I removed. I also removed the highboy-style gas tank out back. Since I used the Revell tube axle, I modified the parallel links to look like hairpins. (They're just taped here for the mockup.) Works pretty well on a fendered car, IMO. This is a simple, fun kit that looks great right out of the box with a little adjustment. Color plan calls for Tamiya Italian Red with black roof insert, running boards and seat. Straight '64, Daddy-O. Thanks for lQQkin!
BIGTRUCK Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 That looks great Matt , that hood looks cool...
Steve H. Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Great rake on it! Looks to be a pretty cool project.
MonoPed Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I'm not feeling the funky hood, but the rest of it looks way cool!
Matt T. Posted February 7, 2007 Author Posted February 7, 2007 Approaching completion on this one. I installed the seat & grille shell last night, after the pics. I added Revell '57 Chevy ram's horn exhausts, interior door panels & bench seat from a Revell metal Milner coupe kit, tires are from the Modelhaus. Taillights are from the Ala Kart. Paint is Tamiya Italian Red over gray primer, polished with MicroMesh cloths. I still need to fab up a white roof insert & bedliner. This is fun! Pix from our new 7-megapixel Sony:
BIGTRUCK Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Wow thats sharp....nicest one I've seen. The red with the chrome and the whitewalls.....perfect!!!!!!!!.....I do hope its released.....
Stephen Curbishley Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Both look good. I hope this gets reissued. I've been wanting one for some time.
Steve H. Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Lookin' Good! Such a sweet little blvd. cruiser!
Matt T. Posted February 8, 2007 Author Posted February 8, 2007 Thanks guys! George, the hood comes like that out-of-box, so luckily I don't have much time in it. Good thing too, since I like it better without the hood now too!
Matt T. Posted February 8, 2007 Author Posted February 8, 2007 It's the old Lindberg '32 Pickup, not the more common '34 3n1. It just got re-released after the tooling was thought to be damaged or lost. Here's a picture of the new box: Tom at Hobby Heaven has them. http://www.modelcarkits.com
VW Dave Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Nice work on the truck, Matt.....and it looks even better in person(tell the new camera 'no offense' for me )
