Greetings fellow scale automotive replication duplicators and impressionists!

I am Tim. Tim I am.

I am returning to the hobby from an 18 or so year absence.

Previously I had been a member of the Sacramento Auto Modellers (S.A.M.) from about 1988 to 1990 while in the US Air Force stationed in Sacramento. There I met some great modellers that introduced me to a different level of modelling - thank you all.

It is here that I met Scott Colmer (of Uncertain - C fame). I count him as a friend and one of my greatest modelling influences.

Upon returning to my childhood home of Lancaster, Pa. I joined the Keystone Model Miniatures for a spell and then the Central Pennsylvania Model Car Club. I then got distracted by Autocrossing and Hillclimbing a Dodge Omni GLH Turbo.

I did that for a few years and then got distracted by kids and family - then divorce.

Now four years after that disaster - I am now looking at the creative outlet of car modelling for an outlet to the stresses of life. One thing I have noticed - Age gives you patience - but takes away sharp eyesight. In other words - then I had the vision to see the details and not the patience to execute them - now I have the patience to execute them but not the eye sight! Time for magnifiers!

I am currently between work benches as the home in which we currently reside has NO room for a bench. We are currently attempting to sell our home and I hope in the near future to get a workbench/desk up soon to start cutting, painting and throwing putty.

I look forward to hanging out with all of you. I have already learned much from Bill Geary and Peter Lombardo as well as other modellers - Thank You!

Welcome to the nut house. Don't let the age thing get to ya. I'm 64 and do most things under a magnifier, but I still do them.:lol::lol:

Well, you decided to come out in the open. Cool!!!!!

Tim and I go way back to the early 90's when you had to use mail and swap meets to find those rare kits. Plain box Blueprinter were the only reissue in town.

My favorite Tim story is when we decided to team up on a just released Nova to bring the the Nor Cal NNL. . It was hot pink - remember the 80s? - with a black hood and it had wheel disks form the Revell tudor kit. It was to be the daily driver of a kid from Bonneville high. Well, the day before we were to bring it to the NNL west we conceeded that we would just not get it done in time. What to do.... Tim pulls a salt shaker from his pocket. (Not sure why he carried one. Snail defence?) Anyhow, we had a brain storm and 3 hours later the Ultimate Salt Shaker was born. One of the funnest builds ever.

Welcome back Buddy!!!!

Do you still have those gold MC Hammer pants?

Just for you Tim, 'ol buddy.

My wife dug out my box of old pictures so I could post these. It's all I have of the Bonnevile High Hot Rod. Wish I had color pics. I remember that no matter how much clear we put on that fluorescent hot pink paint, it would not gloss up. Not a bad build; Good memory.

Do you still have it?

Yes I do! It is in storage and hoperfully when I get it out it will be in the same condition as the picture. everytime i lay eyes on it it makes me giggle. An Interesting thought I had the last time I looked at it - The rub strip that we sanded off the side is actually stamped into the bodywork on the real car! Can you imagine the bodywork a high-schooler would have to do to pull that body mod off?!?!

The color is actually flourescent pink from a Testors paint kit. Scott mixed it with lots of thinner and shot it through my Badger 350 in our laundry room. Maybe the dampness of the laundry room kept the clear from getting shiny. The engine block and heads are pink, too!

That build was a blast! I just HAVE to finish it! I'm gonna do it with the kit chassis - remember it was warped? - We didn't realize it until after we had it assembled - including lowering the suspension!

The salt shaker was actually pilfered from Pizza Hut in North Highlands, CA. I'm still trying to get the salt out of that jacket! The snails never messed with me after that. Tim - the salt Ninja!
