Getting a little more done tonight. Got the first coat of paint on the bed and hood, and salted them. This is my first time weathering a build, so hopefully it comes out. Should also have first coat of paint on the cab within the next 30min or so. How do you weather an engine? Ive been thinking of how to do it, but havent come up with any ideas.

Thanks

Gary

Gary I've used a real thinned out batch of thinner and flat black in the past however, I've read about ink washes. I have some now and have used ink washes for vent details and other stuff perfectly so I'm going to try it. It water washes away what you don't like

Well, after a few days of walking thru the wilderness I've finally come across your hideout Wheelman (Mike). It was really hard getting here, but I made it. I had to dodge and hide from all the

zombies and cut throats along the way. I also brought along some weapons that I think you can use. How about a 105 Howitzer, 50 caliber machine gun and the ammo to go along with them? I might have a few more weapons hidden away some where. I'll keep lookin and hopefully no one has found them yet. Dr Peeko AKA Dan

P.S. I have a milatary radio that I think you can use also.

My name is Gary. I was a welder with a family before the world went mad. I am alone as of now, my family did not make it. This will be my story and if you are reading this then that means I did not make it either. The accounts you are to read are not fiction, they are not a story, they are the events of my survival in this new world. My only advice to you reading this is God Speed and may God have mercy upon us!

This is the first day that I have had a chance to stop and write. Its been about a month(I think) since the world went to hell. I have finally made it out of the city and into a small town 100 miles or so from where I started. Im not sure what really happened, and probably never will. I have been on foot since leaving since it was imposssible to find a vehicle that would run. It seems that what ever has happened has caused people to turn inot "things". They have an unending thirst for human blood. Also I have seen that anyone biten by these things will cause an infecton that causes people to turn. The only way to stop these things is a shot to the head or take the head off. Moving at night seems to be safer than the day as the day is just to dangerous to be on foot. Hopefully I can find some sort of transportation here in this town Well the sun is starting to come up, so time to find a place to hold up.

OK folks, Here are a couple of post nuke cars I built a few years ago. I am not trying to violate the spirit of this build thread, but the work I have seen here inspired me to post some of my work. The imaginaion and talent put into these builds is wonderful. With your permission...I submit these photos for your enjoyment and amusement.

First: We have the original Post Nuke car.(Well, at least the first one I can remember.) This car, and the movies it came from, have inspired a lot of us.

I give you the "LAST V-8 INTERCEPTOR"!!

Tommy those are sweet and yeah that Mad Max car has started the minds of every modeler in one way or the other. That Camaro is cool too nice way to make a kit be different.

Day 4:

I've been hiding out on the roof of an old gas station in the middle of this town. I've only seen a few zombies around, not as many as I thought Id see. The few that I've seen have been heading in the direction of the city. They must be out of food here. Ive spotted a house not far from here that I will use as a hide out. Just need to wait until night fall to make my way there.

Day 5:

Made it to the house last night. Found a zombie in the kitchen having dinner with what looked to be the family dog. A quick 12 gauge slug to the head put an end to his dinner plans. Other then that everything is clear. I will be using the attic to stay in, just incase any unwanted visitors show up. From the attic window I seen what looks like a wrecking yard about 2 blocks from here. I will make sure and get there tomorrow and see what I can find.

Hey guys long time no see! I have to share with my friends in the build and a special thanks to Blake for starting the thread and to Cranky for setting a high bar that pushed me, that since the truck is kind of a Chevy still, I finally placed in my club meeting for the first time ;) It was actually a tie but I'll take it. We only rank 1st through 3rd and I got 2nd! Thanks for allowing me to join this build and push my mind. This was actually my first major kitbash so I'm really happy right now! DSC02164.jpg

Day 27:

Well, that Kraft Food warehouse is 75% full of Thousand Island Salad Dressing. No wonder civilization has collapsed. I never really thought that 150,000 square foot facility would have been needed to make that stuff. On the upside was the entire semi trailer full of Coffee & Chocolate backed up to the dock. I've moved that to my facility. So, it looks like I have at least a year's supply of Capri Sun's, Cheese Whiz, Ritz Crackers, and Oreos. And now, coffee & Chocolate. There was a 7-UP truck out front that I also brought over here & parked it inside to unload it. Once I pried the locks off it, it was nearly empty. Well, unless you like diet Dr. Pepper.

Note to Self: Pawn / barter / trade the "Thousand Islands of Death" as soon as possible… If there is anyone left to trade it to. (Honestly, who would want this stuff? at least it doesn't expire until April of next year.)

i love that dressing lol but i only need two case's of it lmao lol

Day10:

Its been a couple of days since I was able to stop and write. Finally made it to the wrecking yard. Found an old Dodge truck that still ran so I have been working on it. I also found a National Guard Armory about another couple blocks from the wrecking yard. Was able to find some .50 cal's, one mortar tube, and a few other odds and ends. Looking at some maps and books in the office of the wrecking yard, it looks like there is a Kraft factory a couple of hundred miles from where Im at now. As soon as I get this truck going I'll head that direction, hopefully there's still some food left there.

Day 12:

Got the truck ready to hit the road today. Didnt have any windows left in it so I welded a steel plate in for the back window, and tore down some of the chain link fence around the yard to cover the windsheild and door windows. Well its getting dark so its time to role! Kraft factory here I come.
