Would it be a big deal or would it even matter to anyone if I changed my screen name to something else? I registered using oldscool because I was already using it on the other model car site but there are so many others using different variations of this term for screen names that I am thinking about changing to something different. I am not very well versed in internet forum etiquette and am not sure if this would be a proper thing to do.

Also, I don't understand why some people use a different name on different forums.

I don't see a problem in changing screen names. I use the same screen name on many forums, other forums I had to choose another screen name because the one I wanted was already taken.

I don't think you can change your name, unless you change your e-mail address. I THINK the two are linked somehow. Besides like Ed said what's wrong with useing your real name? Gerald is a nice name.:)

If you want to change your screen name, and the program allows it, then, sure! Why not. Use whatever you like. You are not required to use any specific words or names in you screen name. Only requirement is to use your name in the sig line- which you are.

It's like trying to choose what color to spray your next model... it's 100% up to you. However, if you still need suggestions, may I suggest "Last chance to send Jon Cole $5."

I like it.

I say use the same name you use everywhere else, or a slight variation of it if it isn't available. I use midknightx5 everywhere so you know who it is from forum to forum. Only places midknightx5 doesn't show up are forums that allow a different name to show and on those I use my real name
