Chuck Most Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) Finally! My stupid ol' W-F is a done deal! The paint is Testors Inca Gold, I added diamond plate to the rear of the frame, and scratchbuilt the mudflaps. The plated fuel tanks came from an IH Transtar (yep, I bought a second Transtar), and the fenders/plated fifth wheel came from a Kenworth T600a. Edited December 19, 2009 by Chuck Most
Aaronw Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Nice FL, the color fits it well, very 1970s.
maxwell48098 Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 That turned out really nice. Thnaks, A.J.
rronning84 Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Looks sweet. I like the full diamond plate on the frame.
Wmija Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Yes, very nice . . . that color really works imo. Nice work on the wipers, window frame and louvres too, that looks sharp . . .
studioman3 Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Chuck, It looks great, love the diamond plate on the rear and the plated tanks, nice job on the foil too, I've yet to try any of that. The color is sharp. Tim
SpreadAxle Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I'm not into gold, but this is a nice shade of gold. Nice truck overall.
cargostar Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 You sacrificed IH parts to go on a Freightliner?????? It turned out really nice!
Chuck Most Posted December 21, 2009 Author Posted December 21, 2009 (edited) Nice FL, the color fits it well, very 1970s. You ought to see the interior... Testors metallic brown! You sacrificed IH parts to go on a Freightliner?????? It turned out really nice! No, Dave! I'd never do such a horrid thing! I just used parts from a model of an IH to build a model of a WF! If it's any consolation, the Transtar is a parts donor for, uh, well... my other Transtar! (I've got a few nutty ideas in mind), and the rest of it went into my 'Paystar CXT'. So it wasn't a total wash! Thanks guys- this won't be my last semi tractor model, I'll tell you that! Edited December 21, 2009 by Chuck Most
Old Albion Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Chuck, This is a great build. I really like the colour it suits the WF well it does have that 70s look to it. There's too much neutral white colours in trucks these days (Certainly in Europe). Dave
vizio93 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Nice job Chuck !!! You got a gold trailer to go with it ?
mistermodel Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 You sacrificed IH parts to go on a Freightliner?????? It turned out really nice! Great build. I like it alot, my all time favorite truck. The first transtar coe fuel tanks work much better, that would be much worse.LOL
Chuck Most Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Great build. I like it alot, my all time favorite truck. The first transtar coe fuel tanks work much better, that would be much worse.LOL I sure hope the Transtar COE gets reissued in one form or another one of these days!

mickemoose Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 That is one cool WFT! Can't wait to start on the one I got for Christmas! You have any pictures of the interior? I'm trying to get ideas for mine. Thanks!
Otto Ray Sing Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 That's a very nice Freightshaker. Are you sure that you didn't go out with a shrinkray, and shrink some poor guys truck down? LOL
Rick Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I really like that one, I just started to build mine last week. I'll be happy if it turns out half as good as yours! Rick
