spkgibson Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I already knew that!I know what i'm talking about,if you want,Lets see you make it!I have been studing the brochere I have and every pic I can get my hands on to make it correct!but forget it,I'm not doing it know!let someone else do it,i'm tired of getting nitpicked on here!,By the way I have been building and making conversions for 31 years!and making conversions for over 15!Missing Links 70 Montego was made by ME,as a few more future releases coming out!Go head make the grill yourself, and lets see how well you do! :angry:Oh and by the way,IF you did alittle more research, you could plainly see the grill is a 3 piece unit!

Btw I thought what you had done so far looked great. I don't understand the nitpicking, I was looking forward to your finished work. Don't give up just because a few on this board are nitpicking. B
drodg Posted January 7, 2010 Author Posted January 7, 2010 Over the last few years i can remember many a mainstream kit coming out that the grill doesn't look exactly like the 1:1 car like say the AMT 1972 Chevelle and the 67 Coronet R/T by Revell just to name two. I thought what we were looking at getting as a conversion using parts of the 69 Dart grill looked a lot closer to the 1:1 car than those two kits. Did we not build the 67 Coronet R/T because the grill looked a bit off? I have owned two 1:1 67 Coronet R/T's and built the Revell kit and quite honestly the grill is pretty off from the real car. Oh and the 426 Hemi emblem is in the wrong place. But I still love the kit and think it was a great effort on the part of Revell. So why again are we nitpicking? I would love to have the 73 grill you were working on. BTW
spkgibson Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Well I don't know who this guy thinks he is,but he really P#*@ed me off!I'm not a machine and no model kit is correct at all, look at that p.o.s amt 71 Duster!what does he think that is correct?NOT!If he feels i'm attacking him on here, well don't ever question my abilitys at all like I said before I have been making models sence I have been 5 years old,If you don't have the abilitys to do it yourself, and someone is trying to make something for US all to be able to use ,dont sit there and nitpick and act like a know it all!Insult the major resin casters out there and see what happens! And as far as the 69 Dart grill not working,DUH,you have to modify it,any one knows that!I feel I need a big apology from this person!
Bruno Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 ,look at that p.o.s amt 71 Duster!what does he think that is correct?NOT! What's wrong with AMT's '71 Duster kit? I love this kit and it looks nice to me...
Bruno Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Oh and I would be interested in a 73-74 Dart Sport grill too
spkgibson Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 I'll start working on it again,as soon as I finish off 2 other projects i'm working on ,By the way I personally don't care for the body proportions of the AMT 71 Duster, just my oppinion,The rest of the kit is great!

dencon Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 I agree with spkgibson on the 71 Duster. It just looks off on the rear portion of the roof line and the B pillar. It is better then nothing and I feel that it makes a nice looking model. Just like so many other kits that have this off or that off. But we still buy them and we still enjoy them. Matt
Casey Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 If I can get it right,I will send it out,I'm another obsessive person, and if it don't look right,I'll start all over,I feel close to correct is not good enough,Correct only!as I don't want to have a reputation of making ,well crude masters,I'll keep at it!and see how it comes out! I agree that close isn't good enough, and I'm all in favor of someone doing a grille correctly, so that it accurately replicates the 1:1 grille. That said, if someone can't see or notice the basic shape differences between two grilles in 1:1 scale, how could they accurately replicate those differences on a 1:25th scale grille? I can't see any detail in the pics you posted, so there's really nothing to nitpick.
cobra98 Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Hi fellas,...I don't know if this is the right grille or not,i built this about 15yrs. ago. I thought it was a duster but the grille & rear panel say dodge.
Bruno Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 (edited) Joe, what you have is the 75-76 Dart sport grill Here's what we are looking for; Edited January 9, 2010 by Bruno
