Jon Cole Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 (edited) 1926 Snow Tractor You're not gonna believe this... Talk about ingenuity! This is a really neat 1926 silent film (on video) of a tractor-snow-machine invented by Henry Ford, who is shown driving it. Watch the whole thing (check out the Chevy near the end). http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,213971.0/topicseen.html EDIT: WARNING- LINK WON'T WORK. I APOLOGIZE; I JUST CANNOT GET THIS VID TO PLAY Here's 1926 technology that should be brought back - just in time for the next Ice Age! Edited January 12, 2010 by Spyder

Jon Cole Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 Someone sent this to me via e-mail. The video clip was on that web site message board. I don't know what to make of it... I have never seen a deal like this when a copy & paste of a url fails.
Jon Cole Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 LETS TRY AGAIN... SOMEONE POSTED SAME THING ON YouTube [post=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBjlSJf4274] hope this works
Jon Cole Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 OK, I posted the same link that Erik did... why won't it show up? Is it part of these "skins"?
Harry P. Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Erik's link works. That is too cool! I wonder why this idea never took off, it's pretty clever.
Foxer Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 I need to replace my snowmobile with one of those!

Eshaver Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 I think it would have worked if Henry had built it ! Ed Shaver
Smart-Resins Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Quick history, it was not invented by henry Ford!! it was originally designed by a switz. Later was reworked in the 20's by the armsteads, and was called the Fordson Snow Motor. Here is a link to the wikipedia info on it! I posted this about a year ago here. LOL. I do still enjoy watching it though! Thanks for the link. All I did was copy and paisted it into the google search bar and it came up just fine for me! Thanks.
