bitner Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 This is the first truck I've built in months. It's the original AMT KW COE with torsion bar suspension. I added rear wheels from an AMT Peerless logging trailer and made the decals for it. As I look at it I might replace the chrome front wheels with 5 hole budd units. Too much chrome:) I used Testors flat red for the chassis and then gloss coated it. Tamiya British Green spray paint was used for the cab color. I uses white decal paper sprayed with white paint for the stripes. The Murphy Plywood emblems were copied off the web.

Wmija Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Very nice work . . . personally I think that the chrome fronts look great with the painted tanks and quarters, if they were chrome then maybe that might border on a bit much . . . not that you asked for my opinion, lol! Best Regards, Wayne
Simon Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Lovely clean build bitner, the colour scherme really makes this one stand out. This has given me inspiration to get on with my second K100!
studioman3 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I think it looks good just like it is, nice job. Tim
Paul B Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Very Nice Bill. Has a nice Western look to it. I'd keep the polished fronts.
falcongeorge Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 And to think that when I open a truck kit, the first thing I usually do is trim the headlight buckets off the chrome tree, and spray the rest with oven cleaner!
