BigBeze Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 What happens when you clear coat a flat color?
Zoom Zoom Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 It gets glossier. What happens when you buff out flat/satin/semigloss paint? It (often) buffs out as glossy as a gloss paint.
BigBeze Posted February 7, 2010 Author Posted February 7, 2010 so would that be like a flat with a little shine almost like the way people are getting there cars painted flat blat or murdered out?
astroracer Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 (edited) so would that be like a flat with a little shine almost like the way people are getting there cars painted flat blat or murdered out? Nope...Clear is clear. It will be shiney no matter what is underneath it. If you want a flat or med flat look spray an epoxy type primer or find some Testors Dull Cote. Mark S. BigBeze Posted February 7, 2010 Author Posted February 7, 2010 Thanks Im going to try that dull coat, cause Im not to sure what the epoxy stuff is.
mustangman Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 You can also try some of the satin finish clears, their not too glossy and not too flat either, they allow you a little middle ground,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
BigBeze Posted February 10, 2010 Author Posted February 10, 2010 Thanks, Satin sounds like what Im going for.
danjohnson21 Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 A lot of times I prefer to use a flat paint . It coats better, with less fish eye and orange peel. Then I just cove rit with glosscote.
Terror Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 This is flat black with clear all walmart color place paint,
