droogie Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Who makes the best 1/24 Ferrari 250 GTO kit?
CAL Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) Who makes the best 1/24 Ferrari 250 GTO kit? Fujimi The Italeri kit isn't too bad but hard to find. The Aurora/RM is horribley out of shape. The Protar ROG is good for the exact car it is modeled after but not accurate to the original. The GS is also hard to find and has issues There are some really nice high end resin 250s For mainstream basic kits it will be real hard to beat the new Fujimi kit. Edited February 15, 2010 by CAL
mustangman Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Didn't Testors and I think Fujimi do a kit like that in 1/24 scale kinda a combined effort thing ?????
CAL Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) Didn't Testors and I think Fujimi do a kit like that in 1/24 scale kinda a combined effort thing ????? They did a SWB California. I think the 250 was Italeri. Here is the Series I 250 Database. http://www.italianhorses.net/DB/250%20Series.htm#250 GTO Series I Edited February 15, 2010 by CAL
Zoom Zoom Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Didn't Testors and I think Fujimi do a kit like that in 1/24 scale kinda a combined effort thing ????? Testors sold a reboxed Italeri GTO. I have one. I also have Gunze Hi Tech, Protar, and Fujimi GTO's. Fujimi is definitely the way to go. Newest tooling, most accurate body & overall detailing.
LDO Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Just a funny side note; on another forum someone asked this same question. I said that the Protar/ROG kit is a good deal for the money if someone didn't have $57 for the Fujimi. Some guy called me and anyone who agreed "apologists". Ugh. Apologists? Really?
Junkman Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) I totally agree with what is being said here. I think the only feasible choices are the Fujimi and the Italeri, the latter aka as Testors. I haven't seen the Hasegawa in the flesh yet, but I do have an Italeri and the body proportions appear to be good. I think the kit can be built into a plausible model. Thanks for all of the responses. I think that I'll be looking for the Fujimi kit. Edited February 15, 2010 by droogie
