W-409 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 This is one of Lindberg's best kits. Parts fit nicely and there is enough parts to get it looking good. I started in christmas 2008 from engine. I glued cylinder heads, water pump, manifold and then i did mistake because i glued with superglue valve covers. I painted all those parts orange. Then i rezoned that valve covers are black in Hemi. So they didn't come off and i planned to paint them in place. In the box there were two kinds of air cleaners. The first ones were good looking but they needed paint. The second ones were chromed but they didn't look like air cleaners so i putted the first ones. I psinted them gloss black. I didn't have aftermarket plug wires and i didn't change them when i get aftermarket wires because the engine and all details were installed. To chassis i sprayed flat black and all axles and control arms. Again i did a mistake: i used superglue to put front frame's rear member upside down. Because of that i had to shorten front springs. I had very little pics from interior so i decided to paint floor gloss black and seats, dashboard and door panels red. Roll cage wasn't easy to glue but i used much superglue and it was there. On the dashboard needed to glue tachometer. It was easy to glue... After that i painted body with Biltema white. It went quite goodly. I decided that i spray one coat of clear and after that decals and then another coat of clear. But the first coat of clear went wrinkle. Project stayed a side for a long time. I test fitted body to interior and tachometer came out of the wingscreen. After all i moved it back about six times . Someday i decided to sand the body for a primer. This time i used Maston sprays. They worked fine, now there is no clear sprayed. Again little break because i didn't have Micro Sol. When i get it one bottle i putted decals and they fitted quite well. I din't foil body because it looks better without it.
crazyjim Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Looks good W-409. I like the details in the engine compartment.

W-409 Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 Oh, thanks for the comments everyone! I'm bit late with the thanks, but somehow I missed them. This kit comes with this Super Stock Hemi only, but of course it can be kitbashed...
Platerpants Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 ok. im getting one of these and doing a hemi street car does it come with stock rims or its it 100% dragster
W-409 Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 Thanks, Aaron. This kit doesn't have any optional parts, like the wheels and tires. But they can be kitbashed too, maybe Lindberg '64 Belvedere has correct wheels for this? I don't know, I'm not Mopar Expert...
