Chuck Most Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I've added detail to the Scout II kit before, but this time, I decided to go the opposite route and do one as a slammer. I painted the inside of the window unit black, left out about 95% of the kit parts, and only concentrated on reshaping the grille and hood. I should also thank Bob "Zoom Zoom" Downie for the technique I used on the hood and grille for this one! Works great!
jeffs396 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Very cool Chuck! Looks great! I'm working on a Scout phantom pickup right now...how about a pic of that reworked front? off-road models
whale392 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Very nice! All she might be able to use are some surf company stickers in either the back or side windows and she is ready for the beach!
Chuck Most Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Very cool Chuck! Looks great! I'm working on a Scout phantom pickup right now...how about a pic of that reworked front? Will this do?
Railfreak78 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Cool lil Scout man who'd a thunk it would look dropped? Neat!
jeffs396 Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Thanks for the grille/hood pic Chuck...looks great!
RodneyBad Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Thanks for the grille/hood pic Chuck...looks great! Ditto. Great looking Scout. Kind've nice to do a Curbside now and then
Railfreak78 Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 What is the problem on these that you have to modify the front? I have always wanted to build one so I want to know whats wrong with it.
Harold Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Great job, Chuck. I have a question, though- where do you go surfing in Ithaca (except on the web)?
Chuck Most Posted March 11, 2010 Author Posted March 11, 2010 What is the problem on these that you have to modify the front? I have always wanted to build one so I want to know whats wrong with it. The top edge of the grille and the hood itself are way too curved- it should be flat. And that's just the tip of the icebert- we won't even get into the missing cut lines, hood peak, etc. ... Great job, Chuck. I have a question, though- where do you go surfing in Ithaca (except on the web)? Sewage treatment ponds on the east end of town on a windy day. Hang ten!!!!
Dr. Cranky Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Is it my imagination or are you becoming this forum's most profilic builder, Chuck? I love it. Nice job on this very rare build. Congrats.
unky Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 (edited) A few years ago I buid this one for a club challenge. Edited March 13, 2010 by unky
