MikeMc Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 (edited) My take on Testors kit.....warped frame, lousy fit.....missing parts.... Edited April 7, 2010 by MikeMc
george 53 Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Don't care for the basic BODY, but that chassis looks like it could be a nice peice for OTHER kits.
Deckerz Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 i like it, what colour are you spraying the body? i personaly think a nice boyd red would suit it.
MikeMc Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 Looking at Sunrise Yellow or Cinnamon Pearls tutoned with Violette or White Pearl.....something to hide the largeness while making it faster.....
LOBBS Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Any chance of seeing some pics of that chassis from the underside? I've been eyeing one of those kits for years for the sole purpose of stealing the Vette suspension out of it. I haven't pulled the trigger because I could never find any detail pics. TIA

LOBBS Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 This is all I have now....the frames are all warped....I've cut and reglued one...I'll see what I can do Thanks Mike, the Testors kit does appear to have a stronger visual impact than the C4 AMT kits. The front suspension on those kits are lacking at best.

jedimastergary Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Looks good love the color combo is great too
torinobradley Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Lookin great! I built the Smoothster and know what your going through. Although I wasn't missing any parts, I had other issues. After I got it all glued together, I noticed it listed to one side... I had to snap the body back off the frame, shave and file the body and frame until they sat correctly. The chassis is very nice and I am sure would be right at home under a bunch of other kits. I still have the coupe somewhere as well. I had done mine in two tone silver with a maching chassis. I'll post pics if you want or you can search for it by "Smoothster". looking forward to seeing this one done. Keep up the good work!

Sixties Sam Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Nice! I like how you did the two tone paint treatment. Good color combo! Sam
