Does anyone know of a kit or a resin source that has a nice Mustang II front suspension setup? I am building the old Revell 78 Mustang II, Monroe Handler and the chassis is really plain with hardly any detail.

I am also wondering if the running gear from the AMT 77 Mustang II that is currently out there, will work with this kit? Does anyone have any pics of the AMT kit suspension pieces by chance?

Thanks!

Unfortunately RnD is no longer producing and it appears neither is the guy that was doing a whole line of Mustang II stuff. Anyone know of another source?

Ben, the AMT Mustang II kit is a wire axel kit,, no front suspension detail to mention.

BUT,, the Revell Beatnik Bandit II has a very nice stock M-II front suspension.

Hey Steve, thanks!!!! Do you know what rear axle that kit has? I am in need of a good, detailed Ford 9" rear end as well.

Here's one

R & D Unique part #2447

Ben, ya might wanna look into the ol Pre-painted 32 "Phantom"Vickie. It comes with a real nice separate M-II front suspension. Unfortunately, it comes with a Mustang, or T-Bird type rear suspension. Plus it has a nifty 5.0 V8. The Revell 32 fords got about the nicest 9'in. rear ends I can think of.biggrin.gifwink.gif

One nice thing about the 'Willys' suspension mentioned above; the upper 'A' arms are molded to the frame, making it much less fiddly to build, and also much more sturdy-and easier to assemble without that dreaded'one wheel in the air' look (grin)

LOL, hey George, great minds think alike! I have the Revell 32 coupe right here and your correct, the 9" is really nice!!!! It's a bit narrow for this Mustang but i'll be using it if nothing beter comes along.

Thanks!

Here's a few pics ,, I don't have one of the street machine Willys' kits but here's what the instruction sheet looks like. Can't see the upper a-arms but you can see the lower ones easily enough. Dave, no matter what those lower a-arms look like, they don't look like the stock parts,, Mustang IIs didn't have lower a-arms. Square or round tube, they're still aftermarket tube lower a-arms no matter how you look at them.

I'd probably go with this one myself.

Here's a pic of the BB II parts. Stock stamped steel M-II suspension parts.

And here's a shot of the rear end in the kit.I 'm not shure exactly what it is but it looks Ford to me.

Hey Steve, thanks for those pics!!!! That does appear to be a Ford 9" in that BB II kit as well! The rear cover is actually more detailed than the one in the Revell 32 Ford kits! I might combine the two. The BBII kits are pretty cheap on Ebay so I think i'll go grab one.

I really appreciate the help!
