  1. We all know Santa's ride on Christmas eve, but he does need other vehicles for the rest of the year. One of his favorites is his Ferrari 612 ATV.
  2. Do you rattle can or decant an airbrush? Beautiful paint job, by the way.
  3. I did a 1/24 Testors kit. I used to see this car from time to time on my way to work. This garnet colored one was the first street car. The guy had it specially built, and had a Ford GT and other exotics, so you never knew what he was going to drive to work. His company made frame less fish tanks. I detailed painted the interior and engine plate, added a wire to the antenna, and chrome foiled the wheels.
  4. Do Molotow inks/paints dry on vinyl and or rubber tires? We've all heard of the many types of paints that do not dry on kit tires. Haven't heard whether Molotow works well on tires or not. TIA.
  5. Intermeccanica Mustang Concept This Mustang Station Wagon was built for the J.W. Thompson advertising Agency and was presented to Ford as a concept car in 1965. Three were built by Intermeccanica..
  6. Inquiring minds want to know what is this tool? Some kind of laser or robotic welder perhaps?
  7. I'd like to thank Andy aka 1930fordpickup for his help in obtaining the parts that I needed. He made me an offer I couldn't refuse. And shipped fast. Thanks Andy, I owe you one.
  8. I bought a dedicated shoe box sized tuperware-like box at the same place. Filled it up with LA Totally Awesome and have used it for years. There is probably a quarter of an inch of sludge on the bottom. but it still works fine. Soak as long as needed. Sometimes it works in minutes, like on chrome, sometimes hours, and sometimes days. I once left a body in there for 6 months and it came out OK.
  9. If you're going to try cutting a can, be sure to drill all holes first.
  10. I don't know their reason for doing it, but the Johan Chrysler Turbine Car EZ build kit, not the full kit, has enough decals to duplicate the rally car from the movie The Lively Set, however you have to unscramble the letters to make the names correct.
  11. rI have had great results from LA Totally Awesome all purpose concentrate cleaner, degreaser, and spot remover. Straight out of the bottle. These are sold at Dollar Tree. Your choice 32oz or 20 oz in a spray bottle. Cheapest way I know to get a spray bottle as a bonus.
  12. ,I have had very good service and results from Specialty Resin in MI. I love their Ultra 4 mold release, Model-Pro-Slo resins, and Cast-A-Mold 30TF silicone.
  13. They were made in Neckelzum Germany. I actually road raced an NSU Spyder once and a NSU 1000Tts many times. The Tts looked like a 3/4 scale 1960 Corvair and was powered by an inline, air cooled, 4 cylinder Mammouth Motorcycle engine made by Munch.
  14. Not sure which is more impressive, your skill or your patience. Thanks for showing all the different steps.
  15. Very impressive scratching. How do you control the thickness of your cyan + bicarbonate parts?
  16. Thanks for the replies. Always something...never good.
  17. I wish you could buy those wheels separately and at a reasonable price.
  18. Does anyone know or have an idea of what the colors are to paint a 2019 F1 Mercedes? TIA
  19. I've gota bad case of the evil fisheyes. The car is a promo Geo Storm cast in yellow plastic. I thoroughly washed it in Dawn dish soap and tried to spray it with black Rustroleum enamel. The results was a bad case of fisheye. I threw it into the pond. The offending paint came off very well. Yesterday I tried again. First I wiped it all down with 91% rubbing alcohol. I then tried to mist on a coat of the same paint. I got the same results. What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do to prevent this?
  20. We clearance out our kits the end of June and are just authorized to do our reset this week. Can't wait to see what's new.
  21. Sorry, wings aren't allowed at Bonneville.
  22. I work at Hobby Lobby. About three weeks ago at, 2 in the afternoon, I saw our hobby dept head marking down the kits to $7.49. We talked about it and I saw several that I would buy at that price. We can't set items aside for ourselves and there were multiples of the ones that I was interested it. When I clocked out at 5 I went to pick out some kits. To my surprise, all that was left were PT Cruisers. I asked the dept head if he had moved the kits. He said no, but some guy came in and bought 45 kits, $350 dollars worth and another $50 worth of modeling tools and supplies that were also marked down. So I, too got nothing. Some people are greedy, and I'm sure that most of these kits will be on evilbay.
