Since I finished the 92 cougar I desided to start this:

sonoma625.jpg

Revell's 99 silverado. I have all the stock pieces except for the stock suspension. So It is going to be pretty much like a truck you would see riding around, lowered a bit and some rims. I swaped out the kit rims with the custom rims from the Revell 09 challenger. I am using the grill I have on it for now for mock ups only. The stock lower rearbead things are going on, stock bumper, and stock tail gate. It is going to be a light gold/champane color.

I have 1 question? Do you think I should use the stock hood or the cowel?

It sounds like you're going with the "low budget lowrider" look. In that case, I would use the stock hood. Just my 0.02. B)

I think the stock hood would fit in with the rest of the truck being essentially stock, except for rims and ride height.

It's a pretty nice kit, I like the way the windows fit from the outside. All kit glass should be that easy! I built a tow truck out of mine.

I have that kit and it didn't have a stock hood I had to get it from a friend :D I'm mixed on my input due to I'd say stock for stock but with those wheels the small cowl would be ok. Sporty but not over the top cause the cowl on this truck is not tall.

If you're going low budget, you should use the cowl hood, but have it primer gray/black. You could say the person bought the aftermarket hood, but didn't have enough to have it painted. :D

I guess great minds think a like! :D I was accually thinking the same thing. I think I'll go with the cowel hood because a) I don't feel like striping the stock one and :D I plan on getting a cowel hood for my 99 sonoma and it won't be painted for awhile. :D

ok guys quick update:

I got the interior done(will get better pics before it's done). The thing in primer and the hood sprayed black, to look like it's aftermarket. I can't find the shaved tailgate I painted for fun, but the color looks good. :o

Please don't mind the pics guys, the bench is soooooo messy right now there was no room for pics.

Ok guys, another update:

Got it painted, it is krylon champagne nouveau, which is a satin color, but it will be cleared with duplicolor after I get the badge decals on and polish it out in about a week to make it shiny.
