Rick Schmidt Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 A friend is interested in replicating this truck, and I think it's a pretty cool concept. I'm curious about wheelbase and such Would I be correct to assume this would be based on the longbed chassis but instead of the long bed its just a long cab ?? Would ya think the chassis is stock length ? After seeing his plan for it it's got me thinking maybe later I need a couple more of these kits too.
Casey Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I would think the longbed version would work as far as wheelbase is concerned, but I think he'll need two kits anyway, especially for the interior/cab floor and seats.
Casey429 Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 (edited) I remember when this rendering appeared in Custom Classic Trucks. I think that was the original idea. It used a factory(not sure if GM did crews back then, I know Ford did)crew cab on a standard cab longbed chassis. The idea was it is supposed to be like alot of the new 1/2 ton crew cabs they sell now, with a sporty short bed, shorter than a standard 6 1/2 foot box. I liked the idea too, and I think a Bumpside or Dentside Ford would work well for this concept too. Edited April 6, 2010 by Casey429
Rick Schmidt Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 Thanks for the input guys. he already knows he needs 2 for his and I was figuring the same if I decided to try a take on it we were mainly discussing the wheelbase and chassis setup
