Billy Kingsley Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Here is one that is a major victory for me. I have been fighting with the Polar Lights Chargers for years, since 2004 when I began building NASCAR kits. And now, finally, I have conquered them! I have had this out to work on it several times, and they all ended up back in the box, with me frustrated. But this time, I got it done! It's not the greatest build, I started it so long ago I didn't remove the mold lines, and I decaled it despite runs in the paint, things I would not do anymore. But it still feels great to have it done, finally! It's the Polar Lights kit (Only the second I've ever built) with Yesterday's decals, Modelhaus wheels and Slixx tire decals. The front suspension has been marginally lowered. The paint is Tamiya Pure White. The red on the wheels is actually Ford Engine red, it seemed to match the decal stripes and numbers. It may not be perfect, but it's a major building milestone for me and I am pleased to have it done!
oldscool Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I think it looks great The paint jobs on those cars weren't perfect anyway. oldscool
LUKE'57 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Billy, my ol' buddy Soap's got about a half dozen or so models that I either built for him or refurbished ones he already had and I think he would be proud to put that one right up alongside them. I know I would be proud to have it alongside the ones I did for him. Great job, and I still haven't forgotten those DVD's and picture CDs for you.
dwc43 Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 I think it looks really good myself. Did a good job on it.
ricky12 Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Nice job Billy . I have always had a hard time with white . yours looks pretty good to me .
Modelmartin Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Any old fool can start a model, but it takes some model building mojo to finish one, especially one you had to do battle with. Congrats on the completion and keep up the good work!
Billy Kingsley Posted April 11, 2010 Author Posted April 11, 2010 Thanks guys! Comments are much appreciated Jerry: Praise from Caesar! Andy: Now I just have to finish the other 88 NASCAR models I have in progress, and the unknown number of street cars! LOL! Thanks again, guys
59 Impala Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Billy, this looks fantastic to me. I really like the color. Good looking white and the decals look good as well. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing more. Dan
