I've been working on and off on this one for the last month and thought I'd post it here and show what I started with and where I'm at with it.

I no know what they used to paint the strips, but it was a PITA to get off!! B)

And they sure used a lot of glue on it!!

When I was trying to get the glass out I broke some stuff......

But it all went back together just fine... :)

And as of right now this is where I'm at and I should be able to get a little more done on it today.

But I don't think I'll have it 100% done by Saturday for our club meeting which the theme is glue bombs....... :P

nice save. looks good so far. that dent in the right front i think gives it character. Grandma had a little oops in a parking lot kind of thing.

Yeah I thought about fixing that, but it goes through the trim and it's on both sides and I didn't think I could fix it without messing up that trim so it stayed.

Looks good,I especially like the color with the white roof. The undercarriage is like night and day.

And I have to give you credit for working with what you have, fresh kits give me a hard time!

One of these days I will attempt to correct some of my glue bombs!

I still see a crack... Just kidding Marty when I saw this about a week ago I had no clue it was this bad. I thought a purple pond swim and paint had this one covered. Nice work but beware of that big bad Chevy thats going to run your little Dodge off the road....... ( If I can get it done :blink::lol: )

That's lookin' great! cool.gif I love the idea of saving old built-ups. Makes you feel good! Probably wasn't easy to find one of those, either. Sometimes a built-up is your only option.

Thanks Rodney, it's getting there and here is a photo with the interior in and the body has been clear coated. I still need to BMF it, but the stuff I have isn't sticking very well as I tried doing some on the interior and just gave up on it :P

I'm also still working on the motor which is out of a AMT '71 Dodge Charger and I'm also going to put the A/C in it.

Hoping to get it done in time for the club meeting tomorrow night............. but I don't know if that's going to happen. ;)

Looking good. You've still got a couple of hours to finish up ... if Raoul would just hurry up with the BMF!

Well he was busy putting a oil pump on his car and couldn't come over. So this BMF job is all mine as well as the oops I hate it when that happens!!! :)

I'm a little bumed out about it and it will have to do until I can fix what I messed up..............

See ya at 7pm or so.

This is packed up for now as I had to repaint the drivers side door and I'm thinking I might just start all over as it still just a little bit off.

Sure lookin' good! Nice colours although I don't think they had a white interior until '66 in the Dodges but I could be wrong. I have seen a lot of those cars and I have never seen one with a white interior. But again, I could be wrong.

I have a few of the real 1:1 '65's here if you need any reference pictures. Most of my cars are Canadian built which means they have the Plymouth Fury interior and dash board whereas the U.S. built cars were the same inside as what your model depicts.

I also have a Canadian only '65 Monaco convertible that I would love to replicate if only those kits were not so darned expensive! It woule mean combining a Polara convertible lit with a Monaco hardtop kit as the body trim is all different between the models. It may be easier to just whack a hardtop and instal a Modelhaus windshield frame and convertible boot.

My one U.S. built Monaco is a white car with a black roof and a saddle interior. The car originally had a white vinyl roof but it was so ragged that I stripped it off and painted the roof black. If and when I ever get to restore that car, it will definitely get a white vinyl roof again.. It is a FULL load car with factory 4 speed, A/c, tilt wheel, power bucket seats, AM/Fm radio, reverb, power windows and every factory option avaiable aside from power vent windows and power antennae and the bigger 413 engine.

Those old C body cars sure did drive nice and I have a real soft spot for them.

Hi Gary

Sounds like you have some nice Mopars there!! This kit I'm working on belongs to a friend that asked me to give him a hand with it and I needed a glue bomb to rebuild for a club theme. And it is painted the way he asked me to do it.

As for the reference pictures, sure I'd like to see your cars and you can post them right here if you would like to.

Marty or as Danno likes to call me Martay.................
