doomcrew Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 (edited) i just read the thread on the Jairus Watson artwork challenge, and saw one of the kits was the coupster, and thought "oh dear, i built this too soon". this was the first model car i had built in over eight years, the 39 chevy woodster was the last. this is the coupster kit, but i used the extra parts thats used for the smoothster. i added the engine from revell 32 ford with turned ally parts including the wheels. the paint is metalflake pearl blue over metallic blue. thanks for lookig. steve Edited April 14, 2010 by doomcrew
doomcrew Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 (edited) here are a few more pics. it wasn't getting a good image of the interior before, as the roof is so low, but these shots look ok. i also wanted some of the flake to show in a pic, hence the top shot. steve Edited April 14, 2010 by doomcrew

Tumbler75 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 WOWZERS!! Man that is slick!!! You did an awesome job on this. Makes me feel like a rooky with my first kit again. LmAo Great work and excellent attention to detail. The colour is so gorgous! Great work! Two Thumbs Up!!!
doomcrew Posted April 15, 2010 Author Posted April 15, 2010 thanks guys. this was my first model car after an eight year break. i didn't like the original kit, ie the roof and the fact that the rear didn't fit or that testors still didn't put in any steering linkage. it was a good job a have lots of parts. steve
Modlbldr Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Steve- Simply beautiful paint and workmanship. I like these Testors kits and can't wait to get around to building mine. Welcome back and nice job. Later-
doomcrew Posted April 16, 2010 Author Posted April 16, 2010 thanks modlbldr. the paint came from a rattle can believe or not. there is a company here in the UK that does special finishes for spray guns, air brushes and spray cans. i like the smoothster kit, but not the coupster as i thought that the roof looked a bit weird. i also couldn't understand why they didn't put a better fitting rear pan and steering linkage in. the wheels are good though. what kit are you going to build? steve
