peter31a Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Tony, that is a unique interpretation of that bus. Like that colour alot. It looks like a workin' bus. Nice and clean. Thanks for sharing it with us.
jedimastergary Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Looks good nice color and the wheels are a nice touch to
Modelmartin Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 That is unique. A working style build of the Deluxe Microbus! That would sort of be like a Rolls Royce taxicab! Cool build.
RodneyBad Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I can't really put my finger on one thing. But I Really like the look of the Van. Could be the Bright Orange. Black wheels. Or the junkyard dog guarding it. Great looking Van and nice work.
David G. Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 That turned out nicely! You managed to do one thing I couldn't, paint the rubber window gaskets black. I tried three times, with different paints, to get the paint on the proper areas without it wicking up the inside edges of the window frames. I ended up having to repaint the roof due to my efforts. How did you manage to get your window gaskets to look so good?
Tony T Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 Thanks guys. It was fun to build, once I got past the few shortcomings. The exterior of the body and the chassis are good, the interior is terrible, detail-wise. It would be tough to make it replica stock, but I took it my own direction. (It's for a friendly build-off on another board). It's missing stuff that should be there (pedals, "jailbars", interior side panel details, deluxe belt-line trim is on the decal sheet), and other stuff is just wrong (wheels and tires are perfect for a Beetle-they are different for a bus). I still like how it came out. I'm hoping the new Revell of Germany kit is overall much better. David G. - Magic mostly...actually, I did the outer edges of the roof windows carefully with a black Sharpie marker, and the rest with a small brush and Tamiya Semi-Gloss Black.
