After an unforgettable weekend at the Phoenix area with my friends from Puerto Rico; Mickey, Alex, and Wilmer, I would like to thanks to all the organizers of this fine model car show who did all the best they could, and they offered the best no doubt about it!, for present one of the best model car shows I've attended ever. Specially I would like to thanks Bernie Kankiewicz, who was almost a whole year in contact with all us in order to answer any questions and always being at our service to help in our trip. Also, Hal, who offered his wonderfull home for the affter show BBQ..Oh!..what a burgers!...Also, the great city of Phoenix, who have one of the most polite people I have ever met, in ANY place we went, ALL the people was so well educated. If anyone who reads this message is thinking about a place for a show to visit and wants to have the best time, think seriously on this one. To finish our weekend, on Sunday morning, we make posible one of our dreams. Taking advantage we were there, we hitted very early the road to Las Vegas and another highlight we didn't expect...the impressive Hoover Dam, best known in recent years for the shots of the Transformers movie scenes.

Again, thanks to all you guys there in Phoenix for make an unforgettable weekend!

Simon,

Same here. Had a great time with a GREAT TEAM OF PEOPLE. Went out of their way to make us feel WELCOMED. Thanks to all who attended and were curious about our team. Best 5 days I've had in a while.

Again THANKS TO ALL!!

I was there and met some fellow modelers, picked up a few kits and enjoyed the wonderful contest entries. However, I had no idea that this was such a big event with people traveling such great distances to attend.

How lucky I am to have such a great show right in my own back yard; I actually live about 1.5 miles from the venue!

Thanks to all of those folks who did the work so the rest of us could play!

Simon, Mikey,

It was great meeting you, Alex and Wilmer! It was a real treat to see your models in person!! And, I'm so very glad you guys had a great time in Phoenix. You made it special for us, too!

Glad you enjoyed the event; you are always welcome here. Congratulations on your success with the awards, too.

Can't wait to see you at GSL next year ... and don't forget, Desert Scale Classic 7 is the weekend before, so you can kill two events with one trip!

Til next time, my friends,

Dan

Ok. So who took pictures? Thread is worthless without pictures!

Meaneyme,

There were two other threads posted with photos and links to albums of photos taken at Desert Scale, both were posted in the "General" Forum; you will be able to find them by searching that column.

This thread is not worthless, because it was Simon's expression of his - and his friends' - experiences during their travel to Arizona to attend the DSC. His and Mikey's statements and the responses to them need no pictures to portray their enjoyment of the event and their other experiences during their trip, or our sincere pleasure that they had a great time, or our gratitude that they chose our event for a visit. They are truly delightful gentlemen and its an honor to have met them and made friendships with them.

Sorry you were unable to attend DSC and experience this first-hand. But, hopefully, you can make it to Phoenix next year and enjoy it yourself.
