I bought one of the 1/10 scale R/C Tamiya Rover Mini-Cooper's 5 years ago and have souped it up and just been messing around with it over the past few years and made a few video's over the past couple years, but have gotten very serious in the past couple weeks! I don't have any video's of it with a stock motor or stock class motor, but I do have one of it with a 17t brushed motor!.

Well, I had a slight problem with the trans last year that took out the speed control I put in 5 years ago and had to park the car for the rest of the summer, but put the esc that I had been running in one of my crawlers with a newer, much more powerful brushless motor and one of the biggest 7.2v Ni-MH batteries available!

Myself and a co-worker strapped his cell phone to the car and were able to get 41mph out of the car with it geared slightly faster and taller tired than the above video.

I now have a 11.1v battery Lithium battery in it and it runs fast enough that it's blown up tires!

The same coworker that let me strap his phone to the car guesstimated that it now runs north of 60mph, but I'm not willing to strap his phone to it anymore with as fast as it now goes!

Wow, that thing flies! That is really cool!

I have the same car, but mine is all stock. I painted it up like Mr. Bean's car. (Yellow with a black hood.)

Ludicrous speed... GOOOOO!!!!!!

That looks fast! Love the name....Missile Cooper! :P I might borrow that one day.

Speed is addicting. I have a Traxxis Rustler that I put an 11t motor in and grafted on another battery. I know what you mean about the blown up tires... At that speed, the out of balance wheels and tires were making the truck rattle so I used a prop balancer and the sticky lead fishing weight tape to balance them.

I also have a Kyosho Spyder GP10 with a .21 motor, four wheel drive and two speed trans. That thing is wicked fast... I need to get one-ways for front and rear. I hit the brakes and the thing goes into a spin.

He's gone plaid. ( )

Joe I don't think I've ever seen a car that small go that fast.

Here's the tires that failed as requested.

These ar the Tamiya Type-A Reinforced Slicks (belted) made specificly for these cars.

and here's the carnage on the body that resulted from that failure, I htink a chunk of sidewall punhced that hole!

This is the HPI B15-40 Belted X-Pattern Mini Tire that blew.

and this is the reinforcement belt that the tire ripped off of at speed!

I think the problems here were a mixture of old tires that were poorly glued to the rims and excessive wheel speeds

Hey Torino, you may not want to run two one ways on that sedan, you'll lose all braking ability if you do, might try to go one way on the front and spool out back.
