Harvezter Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Hello All, Currently the smallest drill bit I own is 1/16th of an inch so I need to buy really small ones. Only problem is, I dont know how to tell what size I need... I found these sets... but I have no clue how big they are actually... are they the small sized I need for thsi hobby? Like to drill out distrubitor caps for spark plug wires etc... http://www.ehobbytools.com/en-us/p_217.html http://www.ehobbytools.com/en-us/p_221.html http://www.ehobbytools.com/en-us/p_224.html and if they are the right sizes... any suggestion on which set I should get or does it not matter? Thank You, Jared
Andy Wyatt Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I have the #61 -#80 set. Get a good pin vise and you're set. For plug wires I use wire wrap from Radio Shack (30 AWG) and use the #73 bit. What I did was drilled holes in a piece of sheet plastic using all the bits and labeled the holes and saw what size wire fit into what size hole.
Guest zebm1 Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Hey Jared, check out Micro-Mark at www.micromark.com , I think that's their webaddy. I get all mah modeling tools from them and they have oddles of tools, thru mail-order.
Jeff Johnston Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 I bought 2 sets form this guy on ebay called Mr. Leggs. Here is a link, and they are cheap (you get 2 sets). They are a little soft, but wirth the money. I like the harder metal bits, but like I said for the price you can't beat it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...s_promot_widget
