Ben Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Actually, nobody is casting any Cat parts anymore because Cat has stepped in and threatened lawsuits! IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!!!!!!
george 53 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 WoW! I'm not that all into BIG trucks, I do have a couple, but NOTHING like THAT! Yeeesh, that's just a cool lookin engine, an it's just a Cat Desiel. (No offense you BIG Cat lovers!)I'd like to see what it went into! If just the ENGINE looks that good, the rest of that rascal must be a mutha! Just a BEAUT!
rronning84 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 When did they threaten with the lawsuit. That sucks. Does he make others like detroits and what not.
chuckyr Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 When did they threaten with the lawsuit. That sucks. Does he make others like detroits and what not. Caterpillar sent Howard Whitehead of KFS a Cease and desist order. He had to stop selling his photo etched Caterpillar logos and changed his excavator kit’s color scheme. I suspect they came after Clint Freeman about his 3406E resin kit. They don’t play!
Turbo590 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 The engine was an original Clint Freeman 3406E, bought off of Ebay several years ago. It is resin, scaled to 1/24th. I went into my Peterbilt 357 Triaxle Dump Truck that was built.... It would be nice if more CAT aftermarket model parts/products were available...BUT because of the copy right laws, DON'T count on it. This was a gem in the finding and I paid dearly at the time. The engine is no longer sold or produced, since Clint closed up shop several years ago. Kurt
Jim B Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I got this message from Evan this morning concerning his 3406E & C15 engines: "Yep, I'm still running the gauntlet with those engine's! Though I will be stopping once this mould set wears out." So, I guess the moral of the story here is "Get 'em while they last!!!"
