chuckyr Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Hey guy's i was just on tower hobbies & seen where the fred's wrecker w-900 kenworth is being reissued by revell of germany they say it will be out by nov 2010 it has a hefty price of $109.99 boy i can't wait to get 1 old man ' What? I think I might have paid $60 for it when it was first issued. Talk about taking advantage!
MICHAEL COLE Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 thats good, I have not built this kit before. does the boom move like the one on the pete can-do?
old-hermit Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 It's the K-900 and price is $106.99 plus shipping. (retail $132.50) http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXZRE4&P=W
Jim B Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 It's actually a W900, the K100 is the COE. That's kind of pricy!
old-hermit Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Just copied what was on Tower Hobbies page. T-900 maybe ?
Jim B Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I think it's just a typo on the Tower Hobbies page. The T900 is an Australian Kenworth, and from the picture it appears to have a left hand drive. I have no idea what wreckers in Australia look like, so this one might be able to be converted.
Aaronw Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Glad to see this one back, $106 may not be cheap but it is better than what they are asking on ebay.
mackinac359 Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 The price of plastic is tied to the price of oil.. it goes up, so does our hobby expense. Tim
Madd Trucker Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Looks like i will be building what Ihave in my stock of trucks and some what retire from modeling at the rate truck kits are going Jim B Aussie wreckes look like ours from every day two trucks to full dress custom rigs before McAfee wiped out my comp Ihad a pic of a 379 full dress custom Pete with the same unit Stepps had it was built inthe stats and shipped to Australia
showbuilder Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 i for one am glad they are reissuing this kit. the price is a little steep but you have to pay to play as they say. i have five of these on preorder and three originals on the shelf. i bought my first one for 45 bucks off ebay in 2002. the last one i bought from ebay was 125 bucks so i guess the new asking price is not that bad.
Eshaver Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Can anyone provide any details as to which crane this wrecker might be ? Is it a Holmes 75o , a Zack Lift or what ........ ? Ed Shaver
highway Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 It's the K-900 Just copied what was on Tower Hobbies page. T-900 maybe ? It is just as Jim said, the truck in the kit is a W-900, it is more or less the W-900 tractor Revell AG offers, expect with the wrecker body. The Kentorth K Series trucks are the cabover truck, W Series are the standard style conventional trucks, and the T Series are the aerodynamic "anteater" style sloped nose conventionals. A T-900 truck is very similar the wrecker in my profile picture, I think the one in my profile pic is a T-800, but not 100% sure.
modeltrucks25thscale Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Revell always used the term 'K900' for this kit.....I wonder how they came up with that idea?? On the other hand....I've seen one of these kits with the letters W900 on the boxtop....now THAT must have been a misprint Anyway, it's good to see this kit reissued as the wreckerparts are very interesting.
