vaughn Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Built this several months back. Third build after a 47 year comma ! Stayed inside the Revell box on this one. Finally have figured out the posting thing, I think. Here it is.
Kenny Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Terry, that is one sharp box-stock build! A little blackwash on the grille and I think it could be on the box top.
rustybill1960 Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Smooth looking Street rod, nice build! Thank You for sharing later Russ
Scalper Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Welcome to 2010. Nice looking buld. a lot of things have changed.
outlaw035 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 terry..."KQQL" deuce...luv the color...agree with kenny put some wash in the grille...or if u really want to add to the looks get a photo etched grill for it worth every penny....neal

Is it like chrome and black mixed together ? Workin on a 37 ford pu...maybe will try it on that > thanks again.
Greg Cullinan Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 (edited) Thanks alot but I am confused on a photo etched grill. Is it like chrome and black mixed together ? Workin on a 37 ford pu...maybe will try it on that > thanks again. It is an after market item, made out of thin metal. Has a realistic look to it,they also make photo etch kits where it will have grilles, emblems and other accessories for a specific make/model year of vehicle. Here's a few places where these are available... http://www.modelcargarage.com/store/pc/home.asp http://www.modelexpress.net/cgi-bin/modelexpress/shop/scan/fi=products/st=db/co=1/sf=category/se=MCG/op=rm/nu=0/sf=inStock/se=1/op=rm/nu=0/ml=50/tf=sku/to=x.ht http://stores.scaled.../Categories.bok Edited May 19, 2010 by ponyxpress
Greg Cullinan Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 By the way, very nice build! Love the bright orange and the decals.
Duntov Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Very nice!!! Just proves that you can turn out a great looking car right out of the box......I like it a lot!!!!
vaughn Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 Thanks guys.... I have checked out all the suggested sites on detailing and they all seem the same. I will try those, sooner or later. Maybe some blackwash like Kenny suggested, just to see the difference. But I WILL venture into the other stuff. Thanks again for all the comments and suggestions. Just wish I had more time to get into this other build. Need some rainy days !!!! Thanks again to all !!!!!
dimaxion Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Nice build . Clean and complete rather than a rat rod . A photoetched grille is a piece of thin metal with the open spaces in the real thing opened up in scale . Acid was used to make controlled spaces in the metal . Thanx ..
