AzTom
This is a pressed steel Nylint Econoline, about 1/16 scale. We had a new Econoline at our family wrecking yard back when I was a youngster. I'm going mostly off of memory on this build. Thanks for looking, AzTom

AzTom
Thanks James. I started this as a simple repaint to match our old 1:1 truck. Like most projects it's easy to get carried away, like the interior. I have also decided to add tail lights. Tom

impcon
In the immortal words of the late Jackie Gleason - "How sweet it is!!!!!" That is realy cute.. I can't wait to see the finished project..
AzTom
Thanks Impcom, Not much progress but hope to get back on it soon. The rear bumper still needs painted but I'm thinking of making a mold from it so I can make a few resin bumpers for other trucks. The front bumper and head lights are painted with alClad chrome. I still need to make the taillight lens and decals for the wood side boards. AzTom
Sixties Sam
Very nice, Tom! Great concept - kind of blurs the line between toy and model. Great work on the taillights, interior, and step bumper! Sam
RodneyBad
Truck is looking Great. Nice work. Looks more like a model than a toy.
Jim Gibbons
Really cool project! I remember when I was a kid, my friend next door had that truck, along with his other Tonkas. He also had a BuddyL Ford station wagon (63 If I recall) that was neat because it had suspension.
Danno
Tom! That is just too cool! Can't wait to see the finished product. We may have to modify our "Modified DieCast" category at Desert Scale Classic 7 to be something like "Modified DieCast / Modified Metal." It's certainly welcome at GoodGuys! Keep on truckin,' dude!
