Chuck Most Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 I've built seventy or eighty trucks in a row, seemed like the time was right to build a model CAR again. This is based somewhat on HOT ROD magazines recent 'retrograde' of the Crusher Camaro, which was taken from a modern Slo-Tourer into a retro '80's style street machine. So, I took the AMT kit, some parts from a Revell parts pack 427, and some spares to do this- The only thing missing is the sound of Ratt blasting out the speakers and the big feathery roach clip hanging from the mirror!
george 53 Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 C'mon a my house Chuck, I got PLENTY of ol ones you can have! Hey, didja notice that it tends ta ride kinda harsh in the front? that's caz ya FERGOT ta put SHOCKS up there Dude! Weight transfer not bein the most important reason fer shocks! Came out right nice there, nutso!!!!!
my name is nobody Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Thats a terrific bodystyle. Those '66 & '67 Fairlane two doors were really nice lookers. your version of a street machine looks pretty cool. Nice Build.
Nick Winter Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Chuck if it's ok with you can I print a picture of this and show my cousin? he had a '67 Ranchero GT and loves these cars, I think he'd get a kick out of this one it's very much his style.
Jeff Sauber Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Good lookin fairlane....Reminds me of hanging out at the local burger joint back in '86 for the friday night criuses/stoplight races.. There was guy who had one like this, except it was white with blue stripes and had a tunnel ram intake instead of a blower.
KENNEDYJR Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 (edited) That's too cool-I was inspired by that article as well. I plan to build a Camaro or Firebird along those lines soon. What did you use for headers? I am working on the same kit now for a beater drag project, and there isn't much clearance for headers at all. Edited May 23, 2010 by KENNEDYJR

The kit manifolds are like misshappen pancakes! I have no idea what the headers I used for this came from- I just dug them out of my spares box. I just fished around and test fit stuff until something worked!
Custom Mike Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Sweet Fairlane, and an even better avatar! This has become one of my favorite kits, I fixed my ride height up front, but need to do another one like you did, with a huge honkin' Boss 429 shoved between those fenders!
AzTom Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Nice looking build Chuck. I have always liked that year Fairlane. AzTom
