van Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Sheet metal for what.Iam going with 3" out to a 2" pic in the stone wall. The 3" is vent tube.I hope the speed on the motor is not to fast or the draw is to much.
Aaronw Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Aaron, Can 4" duct work be attached easily to that motor? Don't you need to vent outdoors? For the size of the blower 6" vent pipe is needed to get the best performance, 4" is too restrictive. It does require an adaptor to go to round vent pipe since the exhaust is rectangular. Yes is needs to vent outside, I had it set up on its own stand and was getting ready to run the vent pipe when a bear broke in and trashed the garage. That is why the booth is just sitting on a table in the photo. Stupid bear went on a rampage breaking into about a 1/2 dozen homes in 2 days, including the bear control ladies house, so that bear is in the land of picinic baskets and won't be bothering me again.
van Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 My is 3" down to a 2" around that is y i put a 3" vent on it.it is a blower that is smaller then yours.but the draw is good may be to good.
gkulchock Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Mine is going on about 13 years old now and working great. The 2 Fasco blowers are good to move about 300 CFM each. Never had any problem with overspray in the dedicated 6' square spray room. The old computer switch box turned sideways controls both fans and both lights.
Guest Johnny Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Have a friend that used a blower motor and squirrel cage from an old car he had behind his shop! He just uses a deep cycle battery to run it. (from his bass boat! )

KENNEDYJR Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 I picked up a couple of these recently and plan on modding one for a booth.
bigmikevee Posted June 27, 2010 Author Posted June 27, 2010 Rory, That looks great, now all you need is the fan and maybe a light for the inside, like the fact you could spray, then shut the doors to keep the dust down until it flashes over. Good luck and please post some pics when you get done. Thanks! Mike
