God, I love old rigs. As an Auto Artist I have 2 1950 Chevy COE's designed (Though I have thought of using the old Cannonball GMC) I want to build real life ones. One is styled as an Airstream style motorhome and the other is my shop wrecker for when I build my Rod shop. They are both tandem axles. These would be some awesome models. I also have a design for a 1937 Dodge COE Tanker with a full Art Deco Theme. I love Art Deco style. So does anyone know if anyonehas produced a cab for the COE or GMC Cannonball of the Late 40s Early 50s. I suppose a regular pickup cab might be able to be hacked into one since that is pretty much all they are. I love to draw cars and rigs. Mostly classics.

Here is my 38 Dodge

If any of you builders want to give it a shot go ahead. Just remember who designed it. lol.

This is a link to my art work:

I will get the COE's as soon as I can.

Also, here is a link to my LEGO Rigs I built here in Kosovo:

Oh and if anyone needs detailed (As good as I can get without knowing dimensions of a 37 Dodge COE) stuff like how the Texaco symbols on the fender skirts are in direct line with the axles just shoot me an message. I will edit these a few more times lol. The truck is customized with early 40s GM Headlights and other stuff so it is not an exact replica it was designed as a Hotrod or a Concept truck Dodge could have built.

Those trucks bring back quite a few memories! Thanks for posting them. I used to be quite the Lego builder in my earlier years... Several years ago I handed my vast Lego collection down to a nephew and he now carries the torch. B) I really like the '38 Dodge concept, it's a real eyecatcher. Thanks for sharing it!

There are actually quite a few 1940-50s resin COEs available

RMR has several Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge COEs.

There is a very nice Cannonball out there, and decent cab shells (no interior) for 1938 and 41-47 Ford COEs but I'll have to find the info for those.

There have been some early Peterbilt and Freightliner snub nosed cab overs but I'm not sure if they are currently available or who did them.

Hey, guys. Great info. Keep it coming. I also would like some 60s style too. My Dad used to have this awesome tandem axle 1963 White COE with a 225 horse CAT and a 16 speed hotstick. Anyone know where to get this cab. I would like tobuild this truck. Might have to scratch build it. Any idea what model this would be? Can't find pics. Thanks. Anyone else got pics of old rigs they built. I also like 60s trucks too.

Like this one: White 7400?

That sure looks like it. I have not seen my dad's truck since mid 80s and it was yellow and brown. It was separated by the body line on the bottom of the cab. Newer ones didn't have that and I could not find a pic. What model would you use for a tandem axle chassis and I suppose this is a dumb question but does someone make a 225 horse CAT engine?

Now I can find all kinds of pics with that model number. That is the one definately. Thanks a million. Until I start the model I can sketch it up.

The "Yellow Engine", no idea. Any idea what model engine it was? For the time frame, I'd guess a 1693. If that's the case, you'll have to scratch build it.

For a donor kit, the Chevrolet Titan or GMC Astro have pretty good frames, and they're relitively inexpensive. They both come with tandem spring suspensions & Detroit Diesel 8V71N engines.
