Shane- It looks like we have our next winner for next years contest. My old tunnel ram intake looks right at home. Keep up the great work i'll be watching this thread like a hawk. I might learn something.

Thanks Terry, I stumbled onto that site when I started the project....

Got the motor for the most part done ,few small details left return spring, fuel lines etc. those will be added once the motor is in the frame...

This is the first time Ive used washes to bring out some of the details. Some of its a bit heavy handed but Im learning.

So is the GTO next. I guess I neverknew the GTO was not a judge. NOT a Judge, but a standard GTO 455, painted Orbit Orange, with the "Rally II" stripes and spoiler optioned in (these items were standard on the Judge, optional on regular GTOs). Note that there are no "The Judge" emblems behind the front wheels.

Thanks everyone.

I have no plans to build the GTO. Im hoping someone will...

Maybe when I get back into modeling when I get home. Looked for a kit though and can't find one. Wonder if there is a resin body out there?

Thanks everyone.

The next couple of updates will concentrate on the front suspension.

The chassis is painted semi gloss black which is pretty close to the 1:1. I will dirty it up once it's close to being finished...

here are the coilovers I built using brass tubing, rather than gluing them I decided to solder them up.

this pic shows the spring I made using a soft stainless wire, they'll be painted red and assembled permanently

Shane, i think the 4-bar set-up should be much longer and parallel to the ground. the frame mounts for the bars should be back under the angled part of the firewall. i think someone posted the link to the TLB message board and there are some excellent pictures there.

keep us posted!

Dave

Thats correct. They terminate under the firewall. Interestingly I always thought this had a raised A arm front suspension which was the alternate to the straight axle since the front end is way lower then a normal straight axle. I think you got the stance nailed down though. Just need to kick the 4 link back with longer bars and different mounts, Check out this illustration:

This ink is how the car looked in the 80s when it was convered back to the AG days and before some idiot put a camaro subframe under it to make it more streetable. The side view is a few pics down.

Here's a small update.

I got the motor installed and the gearbox modified and in. I made a strengthening support for the firewall where the steering shaft goes through. I also ran the starter wires and alternator wiring. All boring stuff really but feel free to comment or ask questions...
