58 Impala Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 (edited) What is the best glue for attaching P/E to P/E? I want glue some small wing parts on an F1 models. Any advice would be helpful. Edited June 22, 2010 by 58 Impala
High octane Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 58 Impala, I use 5 minute epoxy and it works great for me.
RatRod Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Ditto the 5 minute epoxy!!! Either Devcon, or the Bob Smith that's available at HT USA. Best part about epoxy is that any excess can be picked back off with a sharp toothpick when it sets a little, just don't wait until it completely sets.
Romell R Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 (edited) I use a medium set CA glue just a very small amount will hold P.E. parts. and the medium set dosent dry instantly so you'll have time (about 25 secs.) to adjust your parts. Edited June 22, 2010 by Aftashox
Scale-Master Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 For wings on 1/43 scale F1 cars I use the CA to tack the parts together, then I reinforce the joints on the bottom with 5 minute epoxy.
Pete J. Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 If you are working with bare metal, solder is the best. Very clean if done right. On small parts it is almost mandidtory to use a resistance soldering unit.

58 Impala Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 Thanks for all the tips,I'll give them a try. I would also like to see a tutorial on soldering P/E.
