Fisher61 Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Here I go boring everyone with another '57 Chevy! This one is the Pro Shop new tool from '98. I know there's a great debate over new tool verses old tool, but I'm not getting into that, I like 'em both! This one came with photo etched parts, as well as vinyl hoses. Painted this one with Testors gloss bright red. I didn't use the photo etched side trim inserts as I felt the were to short, I just foiled it and painted with aluminum paint, then rubbed out the ribs. Have a look and see what you think!
Fisher61 Posted June 28, 2010 Author Posted June 28, 2010 I've been working on this since April, the end is almost in sight! Look for it later under glass. Thanks for looking!
bigmikevee Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Yep, looks good to me, love the '57's no matter who makes them, thanks for posting, looking forward to seeing more. Mike

Fisher61 Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 Is the floor pan painted red primer? I like it. Floor is red oxide Duplicolor primer, just like the factory did it.
Fisher61 Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 Plumber, looking super nice! That is some of the best BMF work I've seen. Care to share some tips on your technique? Its outstanding! Just make sure your blade is sharp, burnish it down good, I'll run a sharpened toothpick over where my cuts will be, cut as straight as possible. If you don't like the results the first time, peel it off and try again. I rarely foil the thin pillars on vent windows, I usually paint with silver paint, sometimes there are a lot of different contours in that area and foiling tends to get a thick bunched-up look to it. Small pieces like the gills on the front fenders and doorlocks get a little Future brushed over them so they stay in place.
