What you have to do is score the hood crease with a #11 Blade until the hood drops out .This will take a while. To cure the wearp heat up some water in the microwave and immerse he hood for a few seconds them straighten it out.If that doesn't work then get a hood from a Monogram '59 caddy to use as a replacement.

You might actually want to try straightening things out PRIOR to cutting them up. That way, everything will match up properly and you won't have to engage in a lot of guesswork to get it all right.

Neat project. What do you have in mind?

The warpage seems to be symmetrical. Have you considered using it as a custom feature? Maybe kit-bashing a grille with a set of those slanted Chrysler Imperial headlights?

Thanks fellas, the hot water did it.I soaked it for a few minutes then rubberbanded

and clamped it for a few more and it is back to a reasonable shape.

Phil,I do have that kit, thanks for the heads up.

David,it is like a perfect curl! I like the idea too. :)

Charlie,I have a 59 Impala kit that I gave the body away,so I will use the undercarriage and motor and try to make a more complete model out of this.(its a friction promo now)
