impcon Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I just started looking through http://www.socalcarculture.com/modelcarlinks.html to see what all is still available out there and it seems that A/FX N Scale Resin has been sold. He had several resin kits that are interesting - just wondering id anyone knows who bought the equipment and if they are producing yet?
route66modeler Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 HI, There is a guy on ebay that is selling a lot of afx stuff. He lives in TN. Tried to get him to go to the louisville show(july 31st). He said he was just selling on ebay. Too bad, AFX used to go to the louisville show. Steve
mikemodeler Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Gary, The tale of A/FX N resin is one of many different stories over time. The sad part is that the product was very high quality but poor service and shady practices did them in. If you see their product at a show and want to buy it, you probably won't be disappointed and should buy it. There have been conflicting reports as to whether or not they are still in business under a different name or an assumed identity on Ebay. I would caution you to only buy it in person as that is the only sure way to get what you want without the headaches of waiting for someone to (maybe) ship you something. Buyer beware!

Thanks for the feedback guys - I'll heed your words and tread cautiosly - especially the part about buying in person. There are no model shows close to my area aside from the one club and it is really pretty much small time with no vendors of resin stuff in attendance. The meet is just too small. The closest for me would probably be Seattle and that's over six hours away. It's kind of a pain because most of my purchasing has to be mail order because there isn't a hooby store within 50 miles and while there are a couple of them, they just don't stock a lot of building materials as they cater mostly to the RC crowd. . Oh well... I guess that that's just the way it is.
Fuel Coupe Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 I have purchased several items from that individual and the service has never been anything but flawless. I would highly recommend him/her. X2
Eric Stone Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 ...from what i hear the AFXnScale products being sold on Ebay currently are from our infamous elusive couple. ... I did some snooping and I believe it's them, based on the location listed on the eBay ads, and because I had located W&M's address once, but couldn't find it again when this thread got going...
Abell82 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I ordered some parts from this ebay person, the first 2 were delivered promptly. But the 3rd item, I have been waiting for 2 months to receive. If it's not Wendell, they have the same customer service. I would be very cautious doing business with them.
