Chris guthro Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Id like to get one of these and paint it a gold/champaigne color and update the suspension and drivetrain. Maybe put a 6.0L vortec abd a set of nice 3/4 ton wheels. too bad no one reproduces the newer stock chevy and gmc 3/4 ton wheels
Railfreak78 Posted July 27, 2010 Author Posted July 27, 2010 could you please scan the instruction sheet for me.mine didnt have any in the box.thanks Hey buddy I never had any with this junker either. I'll ask around my club though maybe one of my guys has one
Railfreak78 Posted July 27, 2010 Author Posted July 27, 2010 Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Now I have to admit I am torn between a custom and a stock work van. I was an electrician for over ten years so it would be cool to make one like I used to drive. Or a plumber truck. Or a wild drag van..... Oh boy Next step I am going to attempt and may very well decide it based on how it comes out is I am going to install the channel for an opening slideing side door. You guys all have great ideas and thanks again
toplessfury Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Hey buddy I never had any with this junker either. I'll ask around my club though maybe one of my guys has one i can probably build it without them but its always nice to have.i dont know about mine yet because there is alot of nice chrome that has to be painted black to do the a-team version .
highway Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Jamie and Brian, I checked the Drastic Plasitcs instruction site out, but unfortunately, they don't have them posted there, either.
Danno Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Which kit is it? (Kit number.) I might be able to help.
CrewDawg15 Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Good save...I knew you had it in you Now that I see it in primer...visions of Cragar's, side pipes, and a front airdam are floating in my head
Joe Handley Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Or just a plain old panel van for a business; something you don't see too much in modeling. Charlie Larkin Has anyone ever considered building one of these vans -errr...- stock (please don't ban me for using the 's'-word in here)? Wouldn't that be a totally novel way of trying new things? Imagine. Just the van of your local plumber or laundry service. I kinda did that with a mid-70's Candy Van back in high school, it was intended to be an old van that was in the middle of a restification, so there's primer, miss-matched body panels, some rust, and a weber carbed SBC under the cut open hood I still need to get this one A-Team Van started again though
Railfreak78 Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 Hi everyone, I decided this one was sitting to long. I have been so wrapped up in my Ecto lately that this was collecting dust. I think it's time I debut the "idea' I had for the first time. I wanted to try this with a beater before I do it on one of my other van kits. Today I opened the sliding door and began to mock up some ideas on how to make it work. I have a different plan in my head than what this looks like but here is the start. More to come and Enjoy!
Joe Handley Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Looks good, but those vans had their sliders along the roof and gutter instead of in the side like all Ford vans and the Chrysler minivans.

Thanks for poinint that out Joe. I thought it was both but now I looked up some pictures and your right so now I need to correct it.
Joe Handley Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 No problem Brian, I not only grew up with that style of van (we just scraped the last one we had a few months back), I learned to drive in one as well!
