Mark, I dunno what ya done to make that Turkey look like ya did , but it really looks downright presentable ! I have that kit , as yet unbuilt . I probably will cut it up for parts . The top and the rest of the body are to me a miserable trip on L S D ....... Oh I used to own a 1-1 Bonniville too. Ed Shaver

Doesn't sound like the most enjoyable kit to build  but that ended up looking good, I like the material for the pkg. shelf..are the hood hinges a kit item?

Thanks everybody for the comments, makes me feel somewhat happy about the end result from another person's point of view.

I did manage to get a hold of a photo etch set for the car, but didn't use all of it. I wanted it primarily for the grille and grille emblem, along with some dash pieces. For the package shelf, i used the same material for the headliner. It's cheap and you get a lot! just head to walmart and go to the isle where they sell knitting material/quilting material. they have tons of different fabric patterns to choose from and they're only about a dollar each. I used that with elmer's "craft bond spray adhesive" to glue it to the surfaces. If you go that route, i'd recommend that glue over other types of glues or anything because the other options will bleed through the material. just make sure you use a little more material than the surface you're working with, and trim it to fit with a #11 blade.

if you feel out of place by shopping in the knitting isle, don't worry - i was that man. all the ladies were looking at me like i was lost, and i actually had to explain to them what i was doing in that isle. they still looked at me weird. lol..

Nice job, you turned a sows ear into a silk purse. Does that kit have as many fit issues as the Nova?

i haven't done the nova, and after doing the bonneville, i'm not sure i WANT to do the nova. It has plenty of fit issues. For example, the frame plastics weren't warped, however when you're putting on the rear suspension, there's those two parts that stick out near the rear wheel well that simply REFUSE to sit level with the undercarriage. i had to have super strength clamps, 5 minute epoxy, AND super glue with accelerator to FINALLY get the things to stay down.

other fitment issues is getting the side trim pieces to fit where they need to go. you'll probably have to sand them down to get them to fit in the slots. it's almost like they're too thick for the slots provided.

i'm just glad it turned out decent. plus i'm happy that all four tires touch the ground and aren't off camber.

I now see what's been meant about that roof being a bit short. It does certainly look it. I suppose the convertible is the easiest way to fix that issue. Otherwise, it does look reasonably good built up.

You did a nice job with this.

The Nova has the same trim fit issues, you need to sand it on the bottom and sides to make it fit.
