Yes, wanting to do a gasser that is different. I have a mental block on the paddy wagon and want to do it much better then a slap job. Have a few close to being done models that I have burned out on and tried getting into them to finish, but I am still burnt out on them! I keep eyeing one kit and really wanting to build it as a gasser. No idea why? it is a very unusual pick I think for this kind of build. But the chassis is set up for easy mods and I just absolutly have to do something to break this dead spell of mine! I am nearing like 2 months of only piddling around and not accomplishing anything! So I guess it is new material I need! Hate to with all of the old ones. But I guess thats just me! LOL. So without any further ado. I am starting on a fresh Dr. FeelGoods 1939 Chevy Delivery by monogram in 1/24 scale. Kit # 2773. I will use the kit decals on it and place some sponsors on it as well. I am leaning towards the redish box art color. But I am also contemplating useing black instead or maybe a mixed up light metallic green? So I will leave that alone! LOL. So stay tuned for this radical build. Hopefully this will stop my builders block and hopefully I can finish one this time? I need to do both things! LOL. First step for me to do right now will be to remove the molded in exhaust and the exhaust mount cross bar!.

Alright, first is a shot of the frame cleaned up. Second is with the mounds of glaze on it! Hopefully tomorrow I can get a chance to clean it up and start trying to decide on a power plant that would be period correct for this! mean while, I am thinking maybe stacks. So I am on the lookout for a good set. I think mine had a few blemishes from them. Not sure if I can afford aluminum ones, but it may be a possability. I want a PE grill for it first if I can!

Heres a quick update. Alright, frame is cleaned up and most of the mounts are sanded off. Just left the bottems of them for locators. Next is to drill holes in the middle of them, then sand them down the rest of the way. Then I will make my own suspension mounts and brackets on the frame. Thanks.

Quick update. I have glued on some thin sheet pieces onto the frame sections for the mounts. Once they dry, I can sand them flat where they are not yet. You will note the square tubing in the pic. That is what I will make the frame end of the mounts out of! I will have to cut one side out and file smooth, then epoxy them on. I will have to drill the holes for the mounting screws, and drill the holes for the riser mounts for the springs. Once that is done, I will move forward to removing the cross members one at a time and replacing them with round stock cross bars and cut off the motor mounts and make more realistic bolt on plates for more detail. Hope you enjoy! Thanks.

Looking good so far, Jody. You need to use an engine with a big blower on it!

I really want velocity stacks on it. I will be useing the 66 Pontiac GTO motor from Revell kit # 85-2537. Thanks

In that case, there was a post on this forum in the tips section about making your own stacks from aluminum tubing with flared tips. Keep us posted on your build.

Thanks Chuck! Jim, I recall that one if its the one with drilling holes in a board the same depth as the height of the straight part of the stacks, then useing a awel to flare the end? I hope to succeed in doing that! If not, I know scale details offers a nice set. Thanks.
