Monty Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 As a kid, I built an AMT Freightliner COE w/ sleeper and I've always wanted to do another one. I was told on one model forum that there had been a copyright issue over the White Freightliner name, but that's apparently been resolved since a daycab Freightliner COE was released in the last year or so. So, any idea if the molds for the COE w/ sleeper are still intact? I can't afford the car payments these things sometimes bring on Evil-Bay... PS I suck @ scratchbuilding, so I don't wanna buy the daycab version and try to modify it.
mackinac359 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Given RC2's current "please someone buy our AMT/Ertl line" I highly doubt we'll be seeing any new reissues for a long time. Tim
Terry Perrott Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Hello fellow builders, Im looking for a Italeri Western Star kit.The one is on the box art is brown or if the wreker one has the same cab.I got a hood conversion .If ant one has you may email at TJsTrucks66@msn.com Terry
rottin1 Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 I hope someday they do issue that Freightliner again. I'm looking to get my hands on the old AMT Pete Cabover. I have a great idea for that old truck. Just wished they were'nt like Gold on eBay though!!
SpreadAxle Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 That truck is one I like. I always thought it had a cool look. I was surprised to see them re-issue the daycab version instead of the sleeper version. But if you feel like spending no less than $100, there are some on ebay. I just bought Pabst Freightliner and trailer junker on eBay about 2 months ago. I figured it was better than nothing. lol. The Pabst Beer Freightliner really seems to bring the money in. good luck finding one 4 a reasonable price.
SpreadAxle Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Incidentally, back in the early 90's, AMt was going to reissue it, but ran into a snag, wonder how they got to release the single drive version. I hear it was because the licensing ppl at freightliner didn't like the fat that the nameplates still read White Freightliner. Just curious, if anyone knows whatever happened with that.
Monty Posted November 11, 2009 Author Posted November 11, 2009 Hey! Guess what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ummmm, I'll guess Gregg gave you the keys to the archives so you could dig through all the 2-year-old posts. Am I right? If you're referring to the release of these trucks (finally!) we share your enthusiasm.
mackinac359 Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I like how I was on the nay-sayer bandwagon then.. Old Albion Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Tim, I think we were all on the nay-sayer bandwagon back then. I'm just please that so many of the old kits are being released again. It would be nice for some newer models but my favourite era is 60s, 70s and into the 80s. So the old ones are OK for me. Dave
ZIL 111V Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 ...SD a few years back....Guess DD version was a question of time, at least we can get the original 1972 DD at a fair price, great boxart ...Guess will keep my late 70's COORS DD kit sealed 4300 Eagle & RR Log trailer are also nice "long goners" R2.. pics. Tought the next one for 2010, would be the White Western Star...long gone since early 80's, but will gladly settle for the Road Boss. At least now, we get new (old stock) AMT & ERTL '70's truck kits every year at "reasonable" prices
Ben Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 LOL, I started looking at the posts from the very beginning and stumbled across that post. I thought it appropriate to repost it.
SpreadAxle Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I am glad to see this one come back. I don't think anyone was expecting this when the thread was started. I ordered a few myself. Now if we could just get the KW K123 back. I'd go for that. I know my W925 will never return Oh well.
Jim B Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 The K123 or K125 would be great to have back. Even if the W923/W925 will never come back, maybe they're reissue the T600. It's got to be good for something! What would be cool (but probably never happen) is if Round2 issued a Suspension Kit eith all of the different rear suspensions offered in the different kits (8-bag air ride, Hendrickson spring, KW torsion bar, etc.).
