Romell R
Huh?... I was only reporting statistics. Who is upset? I'm not sure I follow you here... I think you may be reading into things a bit too deeply. In any case, statistics can be fun as well. I still think you may have set a forum record for most thread bumpage, [although I can't confirm at this time.] Fantasy prize?..... How about a full day's free pass to the nearest "bumper car" amusement park rides? That way we could both enjoy the rides bumpety bumping and recklessly slamming into other drivers.. Bump????? I dont get it Jeff I havent been bumping any post up I reply to questions and I post more build pics. Is there a problem??? If you dont have anything good to say or just cant play with the other kiddies nicely then dont participate. But I did like your bumper car prize

But I did like your bumper car prize Any reply basically "bumps" a thread back up to the top of the page. It Doesn't matter what the reply is/was about, or who it was intended for. Any replies to a thread will automatically return that thread to the top of the main page, hence the term "bump".. A "bump" is basically the same as a reply...[Reply = Bump] Again, I'm not sure I understand the fussiness though. I'm just the statistician. I'm only reporting on the numerical data your thread provided me with. It's a simple, basic, and emotionless report. Just the facts. What does this all have do to with kiddies, playing nice, and participation and such?.. Are we all participating for a grand prize of sorts? Am I missing something? Is there supposed to be a hidden game to this thread?.... Edited July 25, 2010 by J. Sauber

Would you get a big prize or a pat on the back and an atta boy !!! It doesn't matter how many times he looked at his thread or the times he posted something. The forum doesn't count it that way, it counts everything that happens and totals it. 25,800 is ALOT !!! It is certainly more than any other thread currently going on the workbench. Like I said its just a "fun and games" thread meant to create a quick laugh . What do you think he could be eligible to get ? ( If there was a prize for such a thing )

RJWood
Hmmm.....I sense there is a bit of jealousy here. I think you should be given the opportunity to do an article for MCM. You deserve it....
MADmodelDOCTOR
Out of the 614 replies on the Chevelle thread, 245 of them have been from the TS himself, so you have to subtract that from the total count of replies in order to be accurate. Posts/bumps from the TS himself, don't really count]. 614 - 245 = 369............So 369 is the more accurate reply count. We may have a new record however in terms of the most times a member has responded to their own thread... Off the top of my head, I can't think of anyone else who has responded 245 times in the same thread...Does anyone else know if that indeed is a record? Huh?... I was only reporting statistics. Gregg
Unfortunately, the "Views" are not an accurate count of the actual times a thread was looked at. It acts like "impressions" for pay per click ad campaigns. The way the logs work with the board, every time the thread is looked at it, it not only goes back to the new content, but it takes the cookies from everyone who looked at the site before, and adds that the count, plus, for each image that is loaded, that counts as a count, and that goes on and on exponentially (Jairus, I know, big word...) I'm not knocking the thread at all, I love it, and I want to see it in print, for sure It's just the way algorithms are, logs, and cookies, it's hard, if not impossible, to get an accurate count of how many times a thread was looked at, by how many different people. The stats for the forum are in the millions, per month. I could use that to brag about how many hits it gets, but it's not accurate. I should try and see about getting accurate page counts for posts, and I think there's a setting on the Admin that lets me do this, but that's not something I have time to fiddle with. So, page counts begone, and let the building continue. I hope some of this made sense. If not, just slap me on the side of the head when you see me next. highway
I don't understand.... Me neither, and not to mention, Gregg mentioned cookies, so now I'm hungry! I don't even see what baking cookies has to do with the forum or threads. Of course, if you're baking some, Gregg, I'll take a dozen chocolate chip! Jeff Sauber
A couple more fun facts I noticed about the chevelle thread.. Since it's birthday on May 11th, the thread has recieved roughly a minimum of at least one comment per day, and averaging up to about 5 or 6 replies/bumps per day as it grew along. At times, there have been up to as many as 8-10 comments per day. The thread has also continuously remained on the main page of the workbench section [since its birth] up until today (july 25th), where it eventually slipped down to the second page.. This is also the first time the thread has gone more than 2 days without any comments. The last recorded comment was on July 23rd. So as of now, the total reply count seems to have stalled out at 614. ************************************************************************** End of statistical report...for July 26th 2010
Greg Cullinan
Rommel, congradulations on a well deserved feat.
