The Modeling Hermit Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Our crew from left to right. John (shop foreman), Dave (mechanic/salesman), Tony (head salesman) also gets his hands dirty and the Fonz younger brother, Ken (mechanic), Mark (our chief investor), and Kathy (our secretary). The crew with find a story or two to tell along the way. Dioramas are a lot more fun when you bring personalities to the figures. I already enjoy checking in to see what they're up to.
Monte's Motors Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 Where is Monty? Caught me getting a bite. I love to eat. John is trying to get things lined out.
Jeff Sauber Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 lol....that's funny stuff... I bet you'd get along with "Mr. Can Am Garage" real well.....Jackson has some play mates now..
Monte's Motors Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 lol....that's funny stuff... I bet you'd get along with "Mr. Can Am Garage" real well.....Jackson has some play mates now.. Funny you should mention the CanAm Garage. I started on that board and was inspired by that garage and stories. I have invited Jackson for a visit and plan on doing a hotel dio for his visit. Have not heard of his arrival date yet. I started posting here, taking advice from Dave Lindsay. I'm really enjoying the warm welcome I have received. Thanks everyone.
Monte's Motors Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 Dave tells Ken, How am I supposed to find a tool if you have them laying all around?
Sixties Sam Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Roger, I've been enjoying your Monte's Motors posts. It's a great diorama, and I love the cars, especially the 1960-61 Mopars! The people and their stories will add an extra dimension of realism. Very creative work! Sam
Monte's Motors Posted August 15, 2010 Author Posted August 15, 2010 (edited) There's been a meeting called in the office. WHO PUT THE SECURITY CAMERA IN THE REST ROOM !! Edited August 15, 2010 by Monte's Motors
Monte's Motors Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 Here's some more stories from Monte's Motors. Hope everyone enjoys. Dave(left) and John(right) get ready to head out and pick up a '64 Cadillac Coupe DeVille for work today. The shop truck is usually an issue on who gets to drive. Kens job today. Pull the engine on this '64 Caddy. Ken is the mechanic who does most of the shop work here at Monte's Motors. He's not much for having his picture taken.
Jim Gibbons Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I'm enjoying your builds, and now, the diorama. Great stuff!
Sixties Sam Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Is he gonna use that hammer to take the engine out? Or maybe that's how he got the hood off? Ha!
Monte's Motors Posted August 18, 2010 Author Posted August 18, 2010 (edited) Here we go with another short story from Monte's Motors. I very happy everyone is enjoying the stories. Check out some of the writings on the walls. Stuff I felt that is important reading. Dave tells John that this '90 Chevy 454 SS needs to be put outside to check on another project. John say, get it out then. Just bring it back later to finish it up. Sometimes it gets a little stormy around the shop. John wants to know why Dave brought in this old junk drag car. Dave checks out the gas tank and fuel line for leaks. Dave thinks we can save it. We need an engine and trans. It's a '71 T-bird. That rust can stay there, it will be lighter. Say good night to our friends, boys. Good night friends. Edited August 20, 2010 by Monte's Motors
Monte's Motors Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 Dave and Ken get a little done on the '71 GTX 440 6-pack. Tony does a little work on the Boss 429 as Snowball looks on. At the end of the day, John and Dave think about cleaning up the corner. Say good night to our friends, boys. Good night friends.
Mr. Moparman Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Wait, they did'nt work onn the 440......Oh, yeah they did....forgot
Monte's Motors Posted August 28, 2010 Author Posted August 28, 2010 This past New Years Eve the boys messed around in the shop. Ken seems to have trouble staying awake. Mark looks to have had trouble parking outside in the parking lot. Dave and Tony degree in the camshaft on the small block Chevy. Mark, John, and Dave check out the 427 CI Ford, ready to drop in a '32 Ford.
Monte's Motors Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 Hi guys. It's time for todays work load on our boys in the shop. On a real note: I bought this '71 Maverick from a retired modeler for $10. If I just dust it clean, can I clear coat over it to keep it's original build? Here's todays work in the shop. Dave tells Ken to hurry up and get this oil change done. We have some restoring to do. John, Dave, and Tony (lt to rt) roll in this '71 Maverick for restoration. Dave and Tony try to get the Boss 429 fired up. Looks like a lot more Tony and less of Dave. Ken gets ready to fire the engine as Tony will check for leaks when she fires. Say good night to our friends, boys. Good night friends
Greg Cullinan Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Looks like once the boys tune her up,t hey can pressure wash and wax and she'll be good as new.
Monte's Motors Posted October 27, 2010 Author Posted October 27, 2010 Here's part of the crew behind John's place. Looks like it's time to light the fire. Happy Halloween guys. Hope ya like it.
