Rick Schmidt Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Knowing theres a few Fox body guys on here I figure I'll ask I'd like to find a good active Mustang Forum specifically Fox related if possible. I am starting to try to gather info on sitting an 8 into my 82 and figure the best way to gather said info is to find a community which has a good knowledge base
Kaleb Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 http://www.mylrs.com/forums/ www.mustangforums.com I have had great results from these two.
whale392 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Since you are dealing with an 82 model, THE BEST site for your needs would be foureyedpride.com......period. They are a site dedicated to the early FOXes and have TONS of info. Other sites to help you out would be foxbodyforum.com, and corral.net (bring your armor for this one though as they are very opinionated and not too keen on the 4eye cars, but they do have some knowledgable members).
Rick Schmidt Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 (edited) Guys thanks Like I say fixin to do a v8 swap within the next year but know I need to schhol myself on such things ahead of time so I don't get a major surprise lol I'm gonna make use of each of these links you guys provided to learn what I need How can they not be keen on a 4 eye ?? What's not to love bout this face ?? Hehehe I guess the 87-93s do have more of a following But I love my 4 eye Foxes Edited August 13, 2010 by Rick Schmidt
Eric Stone Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I recently started checking out Four Eyed Pride, and I get the impression they're much more into restoration and preservation than modifying and/or hot rodding. Fox Body Forum is big into tech and performance, and won't criticize you for changing an old four eye from stock.
whale392 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Foureyedpride is dedicated to the survival of the 4eye FOXes, but they do have a ton of tech on swapping in newer drivetrains/bigger/better brakes, and better overall drivability stuff. While they are all for preservation, most of the prolific members have modded cars.
Rick Schmidt Posted August 14, 2010 Author Posted August 14, 2010 (edited) If changing from stock is bad I done messed up years ago. That face in the pic is not the face she was born with. She was born in 82 with a pretty little average Mustang Face. As she got older she got meaner..... Big change from When I got her to now huh ?? but it is the same car and she'll never go back to that old look http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d143/midknightx5/real%20cars/Aug2439.jpg I have grown quite fond of her "facelifted " look I appreciate all ya guys are doin to help I'm looking into all these sites with hopes to learn how to get her back on the road cause I'm sure tired of lookin at her rotting out back. Plus I'm sure my wife appreciates it cause the sooner mine becomes a monster the sooner hers get to come out and play Edited August 14, 2010 by Rick Schmidt
