Reeves Racing Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I finished this one up last night. I'm proud of this build so I am going to be daring and post it here Under Glass AMT kit. Parts box wheels and tires, cage and other NASCAR stuff. Fred Cady decals. DupliColor Wimbledon White and custom mixed Chevrolet Cashmere Blue. And a great reference source from Modified Mustangs and Fords April 2009. Mitch
Hattley Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 As you should be, that's a great looking Galaxie!!
Eric Stone Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 That came out pretty danged good! I saw what was probably the 1:1 featured in your reference article at a show here in '08. Wish I had known you were building it, I'd have shared my pics, but I'm looking at them now and it looks like you've done a pretty faithful replica. Good job! My pics of the 1:1 are at the bottom of this page: http://public.fotki.com/Chevelle350/cars/keels--wheels-2008/

There are a few details I am going to add under the hood like the 427 remote radiator tank that I stole out of my extra Shelby Cobra kit and an oil cooler box. I just love this car. It's a big ol' box but I think it just screams "I'm big and and I'm FAST!".
Greg Cullinan Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Beautiful!!! Nice to see an old Ford,it seems like they get left out when it comes to the old racers. Maybe. It's me cause I can't get enough of them!
RodneyBad Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 I do Love a Good 65 Ford and that is a Great one.. I do Got a 65 Convert stashed away some where. Great work..
W-409 Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 This is very good looking Galaxie! Great looking, that colour is perfect, decals seems to fit very nicely and engine detailing is very good too... Like these oldNASCAR racecars, of course new ones are nice too, but these are better.!
crazyjim Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 We used to ride our bikes over to Fred's shop in Elmhurst, Illinois to watch him work and talk with him. Super nice guy.
